Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about The Little Studio? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – it really does feel like staying in someone’s thoughtfully designed creative space rather than a typical hotel room. I mean, when you’re walking down Route de l’Hôpital (which sounds way more intimidating than it actually is), you might wonder if you’re heading to the right place, but honestly, that slightly residential feel is part of what makes this spot work so well.
The location is one of those things that looks a bit random on a map but turns out to be pretty clever. You’re close enough to walk into Strasbourg’s historic center – maybe fifteen minutes if you’re taking your time – but you’re not dealing with all the tourist crowd noise at night. I actually loved that you could grab breakfast at the little boulangerie just down the street and feel like you were living there for a few days rather than just passing through. The tram connections are solid too, which matters more than you’d think when your feet are tired from wandering around the cathedral area all day.
What really surprised me was how much attention they’d paid to the small stuff. The lighting is actually good enough to read by (revolutionary concept, I know), and there’s proper counter space in the bathroom – you’d be amazed how many places skip that basic detail. The bed was one of those where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed whole, and honestly, after a long day of walking on cobblestones, that matters. The soundproofing is pretty decent too, though you’ll catch some street noise if you’re a really light sleeper – nothing major, just the occasional car.
I was a bit skeptical about a 3-star place having a 9.3 rating (seemed too good to be true), but after staying there, it makes sense. They’re not trying to be fancy – there’s no marble lobby or concierge in a suit – but everything they do have works properly and feels intentional. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward that excellent winstub on Rue du Bain-aux-Plantes that most tourists never find. Plus, the whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no upselling, no complicated key card systems, just friendly efficiency.
Look, if you’re expecting luxury amenities or Instagram-worthy interiors, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want somewhere that feels authentic to Strasbourg without the premium prices of the old town hotels, The Little Studio hits that sweet spot. It’s the kind of place where you can actually unpack your suitcase and settle in for a few days, then leave feeling like you discovered something rather than just stayed somewhere.

It might be petite, but it delivers grandly… – Joseph from United States – 18 December 2024 (9/10)
The Little Studio is indeed little. The space was well laid-out for no more than two people with a decent kitchenette and comfortably sized bathroom and bed area. The owner was awesome and quite helpful. The location about a 10 minute walk to the Cathedral and main square. I would stay there again.

Nice little studio, quiet, well equipped, close to the tram stop, 3 stops away from the city centre, I appreciated a guide in pdf on practicalities and Strasbourg (in FR & EN) sent before the trip. Good contact with the helpful owner.
