Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first spotted T2 Strasbourg tucked away on Rue d’Obernai, I almost walked right past it. The entrance is pretty understated, which actually turned out to be refreshing after dealing with all those flashy chain hotels downtown. But here’s the thing that caught my attention: you’re literally a three-minute walk from Place Kléber, and I mean actually three minutes, not that tourist-brochure “short walk” that somehow takes twenty.

The location is what really makes this place shine, though the staff doesn’t hurt either. You know how some hotels feel like they’re trying too hard? This isn’t one of them. It’s a solid 3-star that knows exactly what it is – comfortable, clean, and honestly pretty smart about what travelers actually need. The rooms aren’t huge (this is Europe, after all), but they’ve got this efficient layout that somehow makes everything work. I particularly appreciated that they didn’t go overboard with trendy design nonsense – just good beds, decent storage, and windows that actually open, which is surprisingly rare these days. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, and the water pressure is better than you’d expect for a building in this part of the old town.

What I really love about staying here is how it puts you right in the mix of things without the chaos. You’re close enough to the cathedral that you can pop over for sunrise photos before the crowds hit (trust me on this one), but far enough from the main tourist drags that you’ll actually get some sleep. The street itself is quiet – mostly locals heading to work or the occasional delivery truck in the morning. If you’re planning to explore beyond Strasbourg, the train station is maybe a 12-minute walk, or there’s a tram stop nearby that’ll get you there even faster. Parking can be tricky in this neighborhood, but honestly, you don’t need a car here anyway – everything worth seeing is walkable, and the public transport actually works. I spent most evenings wandering around Petite France or grabbing dinner somewhere along Rue des Bouchers, then walking back through those gorgeous cobblestone streets. There’s something pretty magical about having your own little base in the heart of it all, you know? The 8.2 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be fancy, but it gets all the important stuff right.

Reviews

  • Superb – Sumana from India – 23 April 2025 (9/10)

The apartment was well arranged and clean and it's good.

  • Superb – Kate from United Kingdom – 13 December 2024 (9/10)

Everything was perfect, host was very helpful, keys easy to locate and central to everything we needed ☺️

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • A great little unit with everything you need – Anne from Australia – 29 June 2023 (9/10)

It is so useful to have a supermarket downstairs and it is so close to the Petit France area. The kitchen is great to prepare food. The great bakery over the road too

What could be improved: The room is a little warm and when blinds are up, to allow breeze the security light keeps coming on. That is only thing. It’s a great option

  • A great location to explore Strasbourg – Sharon from United Kingdom – 10 July 2025 (8/10)

The location was mid way between the station and the major tourist sights. It is a comfortable apartment in an elegant area. The museum of modern art is just across the road. Cecile took great care to ensure I understood how to access the keys to the apartment.

  • Great time in Strasbourg, convenient place to sleep for the weekend! – Audrey from France – 15 June 2025 (7/10)

Well located, walkable to la Petite France and all touristic areas. Calm, clean and spacious for 3 people.

What could be improved: Apartment might need some renovation and refreshment in general

  • Superb – Özgür from Turkey – 6 July 2024 (9/10)

Nice and clean but needs to be renovated. I preferred it because it has a washing machine but as most of the equipments, it is also a bit old fashioned. It is very close to the tram, or you can walk La Petite France and all other popular places. The street is safe and there are shops, markets, and a cafe on the corner which is always crowded.
We went to Strasbourg from Colmar by train. It was easy to find the place. The host was very helpful. There is a bus stop in front of the B&B and a tram station on the corner of the street. We preferred walking to see the beauties of La Petite France but tram is also a good choice to visit different parts of the city.
Thanks to the host who was always ready to help us and answer our questions.

What could be improved: The only thing that I didn't like is the entrance of the flat because stairs and elevator is a bit old. Maybe I can prefer this place again if travel with my family or friends but not alone. Because the entrance of the apartment and the elevator a bit scary for a person who is claustrophobic

  • Nice and peaceful – Stefania from Canada – 28 May 2024 (8/10)

I liked the location , relatively closed to the rail station, to Modern Art Museum and old city center. Close by there is a small Carrefour where you can buy fruits, pastries or drinks .
Apartment was , nice, decorated with artistic flair.

What could be improved: We thought the apartment was close to the railway, and it is , but if you are over seventy and have quite heavy luggage look for a taxi or public transportation.
The lock of the apartment door have to be replaced .

  • Superb – Alok from Australia – 21 January 2024 (9/10)

The location and the responsiveness from the host was superb

What could be improved: There could be a more private curtain in the lounge area for more privacy

  • Good – Judineni from Belgium – 24 October 2023 (7/10)

Location is excellent, it was easy to get the keys. I appreciated that the host let me drop my luggage before check-in time. Bed very comfortable, apartment a bit worn, but clean.

  • Old but well equipped and handy to the centre of Strasbourg. – Anne from Australia – 6 October 2023 (8/10)

The apartment had a washing machine, a good oven, ironing board plus iron and drying rack and a fridge freezer, things which we appreciated after travelling for a number of weeks. The supermarket, literally next door was well stocked and we were able to buy most necessities there. A fairly quiet location within easy and interesting walking distance into Strasbourg. Maps were left out for us too which was another plus and it was not too far from the station.
There was a wall on which we could do some chalk drawing. Interesting.

What could be improved: The apartment was old and in an older building but well equipped which made up for this.
