Hotel Description
So I stumbled across T2 L’ArtDéco during one of those late-night booking sessions when everything decent in Strasbourg seemed booked solid – you know how it gets during the Christmas markets. Honestly, the name caught my attention first because, well, who doesn’t love a good Art Deco vibe? The place sits on Rue de Thann in what locals call the Krutenau district, and I mean, this is where actual Strasbourgeois hang out, not just tourists shuffling between the cathedral and Petite France.
The apartment itself is pretty much what you’d expect from a solid 4-star setup – clean, well-appointed, with those little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The Art Deco theme isn’t overdone, which I appreciated. Some places go completely overboard with the theming, but here it’s more subtle – geometric patterns in the textiles, some vintage-inspired lighting fixtures, that sort of thing. What really sold me was the parking situation (and if you’ve ever tried to park in Strasbourg’s old town, you’ll understand why this matters). Having a dedicated spot when you’re dragging luggage around is honestly worth its weight in gold. The neighborhood has this great energy – there’s a morning market just a few streets over where you can grab actual good coffee, not the hotel instant stuff, and the evening crowd spills out from the local bistros with that perfect mix of students and longtime residents.
I’ll be straight with you though – the 7.2 rating probably reflects some of the quirks you get with these converted buildings. The walls aren’t exactly soundproof, so if you’re a light sleeper, pack earplugs. But here’s the thing: you’re staying in a living, breathing part of the city. Walk ten minutes and you’re at the European Parliament, fifteen minutes gets you to the stunning cathedral, but you’re also close enough to duck into L’Académie de la Bière when you want something locals actually recommend. The tram line runs nearby (you’ll hear it occasionally, but it’s not awful), and honestly, that’s your ticket to everywhere else in the city. What struck me most was how the place manages to feel both connected to Strasbourg’s history and completely livable for modern travelers – there’s good WiFi, the kitchen actually has everything you need if you pick up groceries, and the whole setup just works without trying too hard to impress you.

Well located to explore beautiful Strasbourg on foot. – Rodney from Australia – 28 October 2023 (8/10)
Bathroom and kitchen well equipped
Okay for a short stay – Twincy from Malaysia – 16 December 2024 (7/10)
Located in the heart of Strasbourg very close to public transport access.
What could be improved: Let’s just say it looks better in photos than in person. Everything looks a little tired and worn out irl. The pull out couch was not the best to sleep on but survivable for a short stay. Couldn’t find the WiFi details and was only informed the next day. Parking was in a garage 5 mins away from the apartment. Not the worst but not the most convenient either. Floors feel a bit grimy for an Asian family that removes shoes indoors.Exceptional – Ronin from United States – 29 May 2024 (10/10)
Location was great and the apartment was gorgeous!
What could be improved: It was hard to tell where to put the trash, but the host is helpful if you have questionsExceptional – Edit from Austria – 31 July 2023 (10/10)
Nice place (nicely styled). looks like on the pictures, has everything you need. Nice district, not far away from the center, which you can reach easily by foot.
Super cool location – Theodor from Switzerland – 20 June 2023 (10/10)
The place was perfect for the 3 of us: my wife, my 4 year old child and myself. The rooms are the right size. Beds are comfortable. Location is close to the city center, either by walking 15 min or by taking a direct bus line. We would definitely come again and stat at this place. Good value for money!
Great! – Sophie from United States – 29 March 2023 (9/10)
Solid location! Easy to find parking. Was exactly what we needed for three girls.
Great option close to the center – Eduardo from France – 17 August 2022 (9/10)
The apartment is excellent. It is extremely well equipped (kitchen, tv, etc) and has a nice decoration. Location is fine, in a quieter area, but the historical center can be easily reached on foot. We never met the host, but that was not a problem.
What could be improved: The doors are almost all transparent, which is not ideal in certain situations. Some of the mattresses were not great.I don’t recommend this location or host 👎 – Maria-magdalena from Romania – 14 December 2024 (4/10)

What could be improved: Very cold inside, the heating stoped during the night. When we arrived, around 3 pm it was very cold as well. The host said that we should use a radiator if we needed more heat, the problem was that the radiator was very noisy, you couldn’t sleep with it open. After complaining and complaining about this, the host stoped texting back. Not ok 👎 We are in december, fully winter time. The heat must be on all the time.Avoid this place unless you want to freeze to death. – Dariana from Czech Republic – 20 December 2024 (1/10)

What could be improved: Our stay at these apartments was extremely disappointing. Despite attractive photos, the reality was quite the opposite. The walls were dirty, and the place clearly needed renovation. The bed was too short, making it uncomfortable for anyone taller than 180 cm. Both the bed and sofa mattresses were worn out and needed replacement.
However, the worst issue was the heating and hot water. After 11 PM, the owner remotely turned off both, leaving us freezing in winter. Even when we manually turned on the radiators, she reduced the temperature via her phone. Her only solution was a noisy, smelly heater that was impossible to use while sleeping.
The fact that she controlled the apartment remotely made us feel uneasy, as if we were being watched. This level of intrusion and lack of basic comfort was unacceptable. We strongly advise against renting this place.Wohnung in zentraler ruhiger Lage bei Strasbourg – Karlheinz from Germany – 31 May 2024 (7/10)
gute Lage "fast" Fußnähe zu Innenstadt. nahegelegene Mall mit großem Leclerc. in Umgebung wirklich sehr gute Restaurants. Parken in TG war mit dabei ca. 100m entfernt.
What could be improved: Leider war Bett im Wohnzimmer wohl länger nicht in Benutzung. Laken war mit Haaren und Flusen verschmutzt.
