Honestly, when I first saw the name “T2 – Balcon” I wasn’t sure what to expect – it sounds more like a space mission than a hotel. But this little place on Avenue du Rhin turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something the guidebooks missed. The location is actually pretty clever if you know Strasbourg at all. You’re far enough from the tourist chaos around the cathedral to get decent sleep, but close enough that a fifteen-minute walk (or quick tram ride) gets you right into the heart of things.

What really struck me was how quiet it is for being on a main avenue. I mean, Avenue du Rhin can get busy during rush hour, but the way the building sits back a bit… you hardly notice the traffic. The balcon part of the name makes sense once you’re there – most rooms have these nice little balconies where you can actually sit with your morning coffee and watch the neighborhood wake up. There’s something genuinely peaceful about it, especially in the early hours before the city gets going. The rooms themselves feel more like a well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel room – you know, with actual space to spread out your stuff and a kitchenette that’s not just for show. I stayed there during late spring and honestly spent more time on that balcony than I expected, just because it felt so… normal, I guess? Like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.

The thing that surprised me most was how many locals seem to know about this place. The woman at the bakery down the street mentioned it when she heard where I was staying – apparently it’s where visiting family members often end up because it’s got that residential feel without the residential headaches. Plus, if you’re planning to hop over to Germany (which, let’s be real, is half the fun of staying in Strasbourg), you’re already on the right side of town. The German border is literally a few minutes away, and Kehl is right there if you want to grab German groceries or just say you had dinner in another country. That 9.5 rating it’s got? Yeah, I can see why. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just… works. The kind of place where you settle in on day one and immediately start planning your next visit.

  Very comfortable and cozy apartment, it has everything you need to make you feel home, with great connection to the city center via tram/bus. The host is very supportive and welcoming. We had a fantastic stay.

  Easy check in and easy location to find. The tramway is nearby and even on a public holiday you can find a market in walking distance. The city center is six stops away from the flat and the flat is very comfortable, nice facilities with a big balcony.

  "I had a wonderful stay at this apartment! Everything was spotless, beautifully decorated, and well-equipped with all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect – close to tram line and good connection to the city centar! The host was incredibly kind and responsive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. I felt right at home and will definitely choose this place again if I return. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Strasburg!

  Wat mij het meest beviel, was de combinatie van comfort, locatie en gemak.
  Het appartement was schoon, goed ingericht en voorzien van alle nodige faciliteiten. De ligging is ideaal: in een rustige straat, maar toch op loopafstand van het centrum. Hierdoor konden we makkelijk te voet de stad verkennen en tegelijkertijd genieten van een ontspannen verblijf. De balans tussen rust en bereikbaarheid vond ik perfect.
  
  What could be improved: Wat ik jammer vond, is dat er rondom het appartement geen gratis parkeergelegenheid is. Dit was overigens vooraf duidelijk gecommuniceerd door de eigenaar, wat ik wel waardeer. Zij biedt ook een betaalde parkeeroplossing aan in de buurt, wat het alsnog goed oplosbaar maakt.

  Es un apartamento ubicado en una zona residencial. Queda cerca de una estación del tranvia que te lleva en cuestión de 5 minutos al centro. El acceso al apartamento fue muy fácil con todas las indicaciones del Host. Es un proceso de self-check in pero fue super facil. Vinimos en carro y fue muy facil tambien gestionar el parking, lo unico es que queda un poco lejos del apartamento pero ya Anais nos había advertido. El apartamento es muy cómodo y tiene todo lo que necesitas para disfrutar de una estancia tranquila en familia. Eramos 4 y nos acomodamos perfectamente. Tiene un balcón super lindo.

  Die Unterkunft war toll, es gibt alles was man in einem Apartment braucht.
  Die Gastgeberin war top organisiert, immer hilfsbereit und erreichbar.
