Hotel Description

Honestly, when I first walked up to Suite Hyper Centre Strasbourg on Rue Hannong, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior – it’s tucked into this narrow street that you’d probably miss if you weren’t looking for it. But you know what? That turned out to be one of its best features. While tourists are fighting for space around the cathedral (which is literally a ten-minute walk away), you’re staying on this quiet residential street where actual Strasbourgeois live their lives.

The suite itself really lives up to that 9.2 rating. I mean, it’s not luxury in the marble-and-chandeliers sense, but it’s smart luxury – the kind where everything just works perfectly. The kitchen actually has decent knives (rare in rentals), the shower has proper water pressure, and there’s this gorgeous exposed beam ceiling that makes you feel like you’re in a proper Alsatian home. The bed’s comfortable enough that I overslept twice, which honestly never happens when I travel. What really got me was the attention to practical details – there are enough outlets near the bed, the WiFi actually reaches every corner, and they’ve got blackout curtains that block out the morning light from the courtyard.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned without being in the tourist chaos. Place Kléber is maybe five minutes on foot, and you can easily walk to Petite France in fifteen minutes – though I’d recommend taking the scenic route through Place du Marché aux Poissons if you’re not in a rush. The Gare Centrale is close enough that you can hear the trams if you open the windows, but it’s not disruptive at all. Actually, I found the gentle tram sounds kind of soothing. There’s a Monoprix around the corner for groceries, and this little boulangerie on Rue des Grandes Arcades (two blocks over) that does incredible pain au chocolat – the owner, Marie, will remember your order after the second visit. Parking can be tricky in this area, but there’s a decent underground garage about three blocks away if you’re driving. The hosts were refreshingly straightforward during check-in – no overselling, just clear instructions and genuine recommendations for restaurants that locals actually go to. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Strasbourg rather than just visiting it.

Reviews

  • Attractive and well equipped – Andrew from United Kingdom – 12 July 2025 (10/10)

This was probably the best value city centre apartment we have stayed in. Clean, comfortable and well equipped.

What could be improved: Not suitable for light sleepers without using earplugs but everything else more than made up for this issue.

  • Great stay in Strasbourg City Centre – Sreepriya from United Arab Emirates – 7 July 2025 (10/10)

Absolutely fantastic one night stay!! Location is excellent and Petite France is within a few minutes walk. Very clean, organized and well equipped appartment. We were lucky to get a late checkout as well which was very convenient.
Host has even provided ear plugs which we found very thoughtful.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Exceptional – Svetlana from Russia – 5 July 2025 (10/10)

Amazing stay 5 minutes walk from La Petite France. Great apartment, comfy bed, all the toiletries from Rituals so the room smells AMAZING. Jonathan was a great host, very quick to respond and to help.

What could be improved: The AC was a bit tricky but you can make it work. Also the street may be loud at night (since the AC pipe goes to the window you hear everything).

  • Nice stay in Strasbourg – Francine from Canada – 7 June 2025 (8/10)

The apartment is beautifully decorated. The bathroom is a good size and has a great shower. The small kitchen has everything we needed. The apartment is conveniently located near the train station as well as the main attractions of Strasbourg. Both restaurants on the street (Starling and La Fanthaisie) are great.

What could be improved: We found the apartment a bit too small for comfort. The curtains do not block the light at night. Although the location was convenient it was very noisy. It seems there is some sort of garbage/recycling pickup every day at 6:30 am. Being downtown, there is a lot of noise at night. (Earplugs help). The noise issue is obviously a result of the location, not the apartment.

  • Thoroughly recommend the property – Ian from Australia – 3 June 2025 (10/10)

Stylish, roomy and clean, with modern facilities

  • Superb – Peter from United Kingdom – 29 May 2025 (9/10)

    Clean, tidy, great location

  • Position in the middle of the city was perfect. – Andrew from Australia – 6 April 2025 (10/10)

The position of the apartment is perfect. Easy walking to all points of interest in the city & only a 10 minute walk from the train station. Clean, modern and beautifully presented. The kitchen is fully featured and enabled us to self-cater. Being right in the middle of things enabled us to come back at points during the day if required.
Our only “dislikes” are that the curtains do not block out enough light at night, & there is a lot of noise from the bar in the street below.

  • Perfect place for young couple and solo traveller. Located only 5 mins walking distance to train station. Very comfortab – Talitha from Indonesia – 17 December 2024 (9/10)

Clean, compact and perfect for couple or solo traveller.

What could be improved: Nothing particular.

  • Jonathan was very responsive to our checkin/check out. Love the vibes and esthetic of the flat! – Giovanna from United States – 3 October 2024 (8/10)

Location was perfect. Easy checkin/checkout instructions. Cool ambiance and decor!

What could be improved: Bed was a little stiff.

  • A very attractive and comfortable studio within walking distance of the railway station and the cath – Julia from France – 29 September 2024 (9/10)

The studio was quite spacious, very attractively appointed with an exceptionally good bathroom with lovely soft towels and a ‘classy’ soap container and goblet. I did not use the kitchen facilities, but all one needed was there.
I also appreciated the location of the studio – a 10-minute walk to the station in one direction and to the cathedral in the other direction. Taking a taxi from the station meant making a longer round-about journey because of the pedestrian precincts. Very close to the studio were plenty of shops, restaurants, and coffee shops.

What could be improved: It would have been useful to have had a supply of little paper maps in the studio – as in hotel lobbies. I do not have access to the map application on my mobile phone.
