Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Studio Strasbourg Proche Tram? It’s actually way better than those generic studio apartments you usually find near transit stops. I mean, when you see “proche tram” in the name, you’re kind of bracing yourself for something basic and loud, right? But this place on Avenue de Colmar really surprised me.
The location is honestly perfect if you want that sweet spot between being close to everything but not right in the tourist chaos. You’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the cathedral and Petite France – which, honestly, is ideal because you can pop into the old town whenever you want, but you’re not dealing with those cobblestone streets and crowds right outside your window. The tram stop is literally a three-minute walk, and the line runs pretty frequently even in the evenings. What I really appreciated was how the neighborhood feels properly Strasbourgeois, you know? There’s a decent boulangerie just down the street where locals actually go (not just tourists), and a little Monoprix nearby that saved me from having to trek somewhere for basics.
The studio itself is surprisingly well thought out – someone clearly designed this with actual travelers in mind, not just to look good in photos. The bed is comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to actually unpack without feeling cramped. The kitchenette works well if you want to grab stuff from the market and cook something simple, though honestly, with all the good restaurants around, I mostly just used it for morning coffee. Speaking of which, the coffee setup is decent – not amazing, but better than those terrible pod machines you usually get. The Wi-Fi is solid, which matters if you’re trying to get work done, and the shower has proper water pressure. One tiny thing – the walls are a bit thin, so you might hear your neighbors if they’re loud, but it wasn’t really an issue during my stay.
What really gets me about this place is that 9 rating makes total sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be fancy or Instagram-worthy, it’s just genuinely good at being what it is – a comfortable, well-located base for exploring Strasbourg without paying old-town prices. The check-in was smooth, everything worked as advertised, and you get that feeling that someone actually cares about the place. Plus, if you’re planning to do day trips to the Vosges or even pop over to Germany (Kehl is right there), the location works really well for that too. I’d definitely stay here again, which honestly says more than any star rating could.
