Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Studio Orangerie & centre? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – there’s this lovely orangery-style space that catches the morning light just right, and you really do feel like you’re in the heart of Strasbourg. The building sits on Rue Wimpheling, which honestly I’d never heard of before booking, but it turns out to be this quiet residential street that’s maybe a 12-minute walk to Place Kléber. Not bad at all, especially since you avoid the tourist chaos but can still grab a late-night tarte flambée without calling a cab.
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star – clean, functional, with that European compact efficiency that Americans either love or hate (I’m in the love camp). The studio setup works well if you’re staying more than a couple nights; there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase instead of living out of it. What I appreciated was how quiet it stays, even on weekends – the street doesn’t get much through traffic, and the windows do their job. The WiFi is reliable, which matters if you’re trying to upload photos or figure out tram schedules. Speaking of trams, the Observatoire stop is probably your closest bet, though honestly walking to most places in Strasbourg’s center is pretty doable from here.
The staff clearly knows their neighborhood – they pointed me toward this little bakery on Rue de la Krutenau that I never would’ve found otherwise, and their restaurant recommendations were spot-on (skip the touristy places near the cathedral, they said, and they were right). Check-in was straightforward, no drama, though I’d suggest arriving before 7 PM if possible since it’s not a huge operation. The breakfast situation is decent enough – nothing fancy, but proper coffee and fresh bread, which is really all you need before heading out to explore. Look, it’s not going to wow you with luxury touches, but for the price point and location, Studio Orangerie delivers exactly what it promises. If you want to stay somewhere that feels more like a temporary Strasbourg apartment than a generic hotel room, and you don’t need someone polishing your shoes every morning, this place hits the sweet spot. Just bring comfortable walking shoes – you’ll end up using them more than you think.

Reviews
Pleasant – Mateja from Belgium – 14 March 2025 (6/10)
I had trouble unlocking the door because the key got stuck, so I called the owner. He quickly sent a locksmith, and I only had to wait about 10 minutes.
What could be improved: The door lock may seem stuck, but pulling the door slightly toward you will help the key turn and unlock it.good location. – Hannah from United Kingdom – 20 December 2024 (6/10)
it was a great location and was a warm room. there is a cafe opposite and it's only a short walk to all the essential visits.
What could be improved: unfortunately when we arrived the instructions were unclear and when we did get in to the flat it hadn't been cleaned. we had to send pictures to the owner to ask for clean bedding, towels. it was late and therefore the rest wasn't clean. there were no way to.open a window for air flow.Exceptional – Nana from Georgia – 13 July 2024 (10/10)
First of all it was really well located for me to get to my business meetings. It was also very clean and cozy.
What could be improved: There was no iron thats the one thing i would add to the place.Super – Alina from Ukraine – 24 March 2024 (10/10)
clean apartments, pleasant communication with the owner, close to a supermarket and stops to get where you need to go, pleasant and safe area
I would never stay in such apartment again. – Mladen from Serbia – 7 July 2024 (2/10)
Location.
What could be improved: First of all the apartment is subterranean, a basement like part of the building with a single window-door. The apartment is very poorly maintained. It has signs of wear and tear everywhere( stains on the wall, scratch potos, staind sofa and so on). With poor hygiene since you can see the dust and spiderwebs everywhere. And this is all after the cleaning, since I accidentally bump into the cleaning person since I came to the apartment a bit earlier. The pictures of the apartment are in my opinion simply misleading. I would never stay if I know the circumstances and I would definitely leave the apartment if I was not overwhelmed with work.Very good – Ardement from France – 19 January 2025 (8/10)
Très bon rapport qualité prix.

Die Lage war richtig gut, Bett sehr bequem
What could be improved: Die Sauberkeit z.B.schmutziges Geschirr, Fernseher nicht angeschlossen, keine Haken für Handtücher im BadGute Lage, schön Ruhig, eng und etwas muffig – Alexander from Austria – 16 September 2024 (6/10)
