Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be straight with you about Studio moderne hypercentre – it’s one of those places that gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The location on Rue de Sébastopol is honestly fantastic if you want to actually experience Strasbourg rather than just pass through it. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Place Kléber, and I mean actually three minutes, not that inflated hotel marketing math we’re all used to.
The studio itself lives up to the “moderne” part of its name, though in that clean, minimalist way rather than flashy contemporary design. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to make a compact space feel functional – the kitchenette is small but you can actually cook in it (the previous place I stayed had one of those joke setups with a microwave pretending to be a kitchen). The bed’s comfortable enough, and honestly, the soundproofing is better than you’d expect for a building in the heart of the old town. I was worried about noise from the street, but even with the trams running nearby, it was surprisingly quiet at night.
Here’s what you should know about the area – you’re right in the thick of things, which means Saturday mornings can get pretty lively with locals doing their shopping, but that’s part of the charm. The Galeries Lafayette is around the corner if you need anything, and there’s this little boulangerie on Rue des Grandes Arcades (maybe a two-minute walk) that does incredible pain au chocolat. Parking is… well, it’s city center parking, so expect to use one of the public garages nearby. The Gutenberg garage is your best bet, though it’ll cost you. Actually, if you can swing it, take the tram in from the outskirts – it’s easier and you’ll get to see more of the city anyway. The cathedral’s about a ten-minute stroll through some really beautiful streets, and you’ll pass at least three winstubs worth trying. I’d say this place works especially well if you’re the type who likes to drop your bags and immediately start exploring rather than hanging around the hotel. It’s got that 7.7 rating for good reason – not perfect, but solid and reliable with a location that’s hard to beat.

Good value place in a great location – Douglas from United States – 8 July 2025 (9/10)
Good location – 10-15 minute walk to train station and just over the bridge from the center city. There's also a mall across the street. The room is small, but comfortable. There is a fridge, but no cooking facilities. It's on the third floor, but there's a lift.

What could be improved: Location, hard to find..a little downtrodden area under construction, hard to find walking, very hot..very confusing to get in, no light by the apt to see keyhole.Bien – Anne from France – 24 May 2025 (7/10)

What could be improved: Petite restauration non possible sur placeBien pour un court séjour – Manon from France – 12 March 2025 (7/10)
Emplacement parfait, hôtesse très réactive, appartement propre et fonctionnel.
What could be improved: Aucune isolation phonique entre la chambre et le couloir (beaucoup de bruit/passage le matin), douche trop petite. Prix un peu trop élevé.Very good – Georges from France – 13 December 2024 (8/10)
