Hotel Description

Honestly, Studio La Mésange caught me off guard in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a place based on photos and cross your fingers? Well, this little gem on rue de la Mésange actually delivers – and then some. The street itself is this quiet residential stretch that most tourists never stumble across, which means you get to feel like you’re living in Strasbourg rather than just visiting it.

The building has that classic Alsatian charm without being stuffy about it, and when you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details here. I mean, it’s officially a 3-star place, but it punches way above its weight – that 8.7 rating isn’t just people being generous. The studio setup works brilliantly for solo travelers or couples who don’t need a ton of space but want everything to be thoughtfully done. The kitchenette is small but functional (I actually cooked a proper meal there), and the bathroom feels more spacious than it has any right to be given the footprint.

What really sold me on this place was the location intelligence behind it. You’re about a 12-minute walk to the cathedral – close enough that you can easily pop back if you forget something, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your window. The Petite France area is even closer, maybe 8 minutes on foot, and there’s this fantastic boulangerie just around the corner on rue du Faubourg de Pierre that locals actually use (you’ll know it’s good because there’s always a line around 7 AM). Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood – well, like most of central Strasbourg honestly – but there’s street parking if you’re patient, and a public lot about five minutes away if you’re not.

The check-in process was refreshingly human, none of that sterile hotel chain efficiency that makes you feel like you’re processing through an airport. They actually gave me useful recommendations about which tram lines to use and mentioned that Tuesday mornings get busy around Place Kléber (turned out to be market day – good to know). One small thing that impressed me was how quiet it stayed at night, even though you’re still in the city center. The windows do their job, and the street doesn’t get much through traffic after evening hours.

Look, I’ve stayed in fancier places in Strasbourg, but I keep coming back to this studio because it just works. It’s got that sweet spot of being authentic without being uncomfortable, local without being inconvenient. The price point makes sense for what you get, especially considering you’re basically in the heart of one of France’s most beautiful cities. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like you’ve got your own little corner of Strasbourg rather than just a hotel room you sleep in, Studio La Mésange gets it right.

Reviews

  • Wonderful stay in Strasbourg city center – Gagan from Switzerland – 16 July 2025 (8/10)

Our recent one-night stay at Studio La Mésange apartment in the heart of Strasbourg city center was absolutely delightful and exceeded our expectations, especially traveling with our one-year-old daughter.

The location is truly unbeatable. Being able to walk to all the major tourist attractions, including the stunning Cathedral and charming Petite France, made exploring the city incredibly convenient and stress-free, even with a little one in tow.

The apartment itself is a testament to the hard work and dedication of its host, Virginie. It is evident that she takes immense pride in her property, as it was spotlessly clean and impeccably well-maintained. This attention to detail immediately made us feel comfortable and at home.

A significant highlight for us was the fully equipped kitchen. Having access to all the essential utensils, a refrigerator, cooktop, and microwave was a huge plus, allowing us to easily prepare meals and snacks for our daughter, which is invaluable when traveling with an infant.

Furthermore, the check-in and check-out process was remarkably smooth and efficient. Virginie's clear instructions and thoughtful organization ensured a hassle-free arrival and departure, allowing us to maximize our time enjoying Strasbourg.

Overall, we highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Strasbourg, particularly families. Virginie's warm hospitality and the apartment's prime location, excellent amenities, and pristine condition made for a truly memorable and comfortable stay. We would not hesitate to book here again!

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike

  • Great Value – Darsi from United States – 30 May 2025 (9/10)

Property was in good location and as described. It is small but has all the necessities. Host was super accommodating.

What could be improved: All was good but it said parking was available and it was pet friendly, but both were additional costs which I believe should be disclosed up front.

  • Superb – Eugen from United States – 27 April 2025 (9/10)

Location, building, unit size, adequate supplies, communication

What could be improved: Some wear & tear, awkward layout

  • Great location. – Robert from Australia – 17 March 2025 (10/10)

We enjoyed our stay very much. The studio and the bathroom were both spacious, clean, and well stocked. The location was excellent. The C tram to Broglie puts you almost in front of the building. The cathedral is a few minutes' walk. We would stay here again.

What could be improved: Nothing negative to say.

  • Excellent stay! – Antonis from Cyprus – 4 December 2024 (10/10)

The hosts were very friendly and helpful and ready to assist you and suggest several places to visit. The apartment was in the heart of Strasbourg and we really enjoyed our time there!

  • Best central place – Kristiina from Estonia – 15 October 2024 (9/10)

Active and good communication with the hosting company. They are really nice people. Thank you, guys!
Beds, towels and the bedsheets are with high quality. All you need, is in this apt.

What could be improved: Maybe to consider earlier check in or later check out.

  • Beautiful experience – Elizaveta from Switzerland – 29 September 2024 (10/10)

The apartment is very cousy and very comfortable. Beautiful building, 5th floor with small roof windows. The location is amazing – right in the city center but you do not hear any nice and do not feel the buzz of tourists. Virginie – was very helpful and very proactive, tried to anticipate any our need and always ready to help. Highly recommend this place for a long weekend or vacation for 1-2 people. Definitely will stay there again when I come next time.

  • Exceptional – Roxanne from Canada – 1 September 2024 (10/10)

We were upgraded to ‘Life Renaissance’. It was exceptional, everything about the apartment, parking was so convenient, the communication and reception was above and beyond. We recommend and will come again.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Superb – Julia from Austria – 14 August 2024 (9/10)

The flat is nicely located in the city center. There is a possibility to park the car quite closely (it’s quite expensive but I assume this is because if the central location). There is a window above the bed and you can see the stars which we really liked.

What could be improved: The bed is typically french and quite small. The kitchen is not suitable for cooking. However, for us it was sufficient to make tea in the morning and to make breakfast for our baby. There is no air condition. During our stay it was cool in the nights so it was sufficient to have the windows open.

  • Amazing staff, lovely apartment. – Garreth from Ireland – 2 July 2024 (10/10)

    Amazing staff, lovely apartment.
