Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about Studio cosy quartier observatoire? The name actually undersells it. I mean, yeah, it’s cozy—but in that genuinely warm way, not the “we crammed everything into 200 square feet” way you sometimes get with European studios. The location on Rue Edel is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Strasbourg rather than just visiting it. You’re right in the Observatoire neighborhood, which sounds fancy but is actually this lovely residential area where you’ll hear more French conversations than tourist chatter.

The building itself has that classic Alsatian charm—you know, the kind where you walk up worn stone steps and wonder how many people have climbed these same stairs over the decades. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re only about a fifteen-minute walk from the cathedral and all that chaos. The studio setup works brilliantly too; whoever designed this actually thought about how people live, not just where they sleep. There’s proper counter space in the kitchenette (I made coffee every morning without feeling like I was performing surgery), and the bed doesn’t dominate the entire room. The bathroom’s compact but functional—hot water pressure was surprisingly good, which honestly made my day after some less successful hotel experiences in the area.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: it sits in this sweet spot where you can walk to Parc de l’Orangerie in one direction for your morning jog, or head toward Place Kléber when you want the full Strasbourg experience. The neighborhood has this authentic feel—there’s a boulangerie two blocks over where the locals actually go, and you’ll pass real Strasbourgeois walking their dogs or heading to work. Parking can be a bit tricky (welcome to Strasbourg), but there are spots on the surrounding streets if you’re patient, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you probably won’t need your car much. The tram connections are solid from here. I’d definitely come back—it’s got that rare combination of being genuinely comfortable while keeping you connected to what makes this city special. Plus, and this might sound weird, but it just feels safe and welcoming in a way that some of the more touristy spots don’t quite manage.

Hotels in Strasbourg offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and Alsatian charm, with many featuring regional wine concierge services and traditional half-timbered architecture to enhance the authentic Franco-German cultural experience.

Reviews

  • Exceptional – Tatjana from Serbia – 15 May 2025 (10/10)

Its a cute small apartment. It is located in a older building but its clean and cozy. We had a great time there.

What could be improved: The hot water runs out fast.

  • Highly recommend it, so value for money! – Eleu8 from Greece – 28 December 2023 (9/10)

Almost everything was perfect! The apartment was beautiful, you can find everything there and the hostess was so friendly and helpful. She gave us directions for everything.

What could be improved: The room wasn't so clean. We found quite a lot of dust on the floor and in the bathroom.

  • Perfect for a couple stay for Christmas markets – Aimee from United Kingdom – 7 December 2023 (10/10)

Perfect apartment for a 2 night stay to visit the Christmas Markets. Host communication was good (despite lack of signal from myself which meant delayed responses). Once we arrived the Host was very friendly and provided good information/tips on the area. Apartment as per pictures. Overall stay was good and would stay there again.

What could be improved: The apartment was up quite a few flights of stairs – not an issue for us however was not noted in the description so not ideal if you have mobility issues. No black out/thicker curtains, which wasn't a problem at night as we were there in winter and it got dark early however in the morning it was quite light.

  • Very good – Robert from Ireland – 5 May 2025 (8/10)

The cakes, sweets and water was a nice touch on arrival

What could be improved: Hot water for the shower seemed to run out for the second person to take one.

  • Business trip in Strasbourg – Teresa from France – 18 October 2024 (8/10)

  • Superb – Sandrine from France – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

Logement très calme, proche des commerces de 1ére nécessité

What could be improved: Le bacon donne sur l'intérieur des immeubles

  • Ottima esperienza – Valentina from Italy – 19 April 2025 (10/10)

L’appartamento è pulito, confortevole e dotato di tutti gli utensili di prima necessità.

What could be improved: L’acqua calda ha smesso di funzionare, errore forse nostro che abbiamo lavato i piatti e fatto una doccia nello stesso momento.
