Honestly, when I first walked into Studio cocoon hypercentre, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name – but it actually makes perfect sense once you’re inside. This little 3-star spot sits right on Place du Marché Neuf, which means you’re basically in the heart of everything that matters in Strasbourg. I mean, you can literally roll out of bed and be at the cathedral in about three minutes, or wander over to Petite France without breaking a sweat. The location is just ridiculous in the best way possible.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to create these cozy studio spaces that feel way more personal than your typical hotel room. The “cocoon” thing isn’t just marketing fluff – these rooms actually wrap around you in this surprisingly intimate way, with thoughtful touches that make you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-designed apartment rather than a cookie-cutter hotel. The building itself has that classic Alsatian charm you’d expect in this part of the city, but inside it’s been updated with a modern sensibility that doesn’t feel forced or sterile. You know what I loved? The little details – proper coffee setup, decent Wi-Fi that actually works (crucial if you’re trying to upload those cathedral photos), and windows that open wide enough to let in the sounds of the old town without the traffic noise being overwhelming.

The 8.2 rating makes total sense when you spend time here. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Strasbourg, but it nails what it’s going for – a comfortable, well-located base that doesn’t break the bank but doesn’t feel cheap either. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out the city, and they’ll point you toward the good boulangeries (skip the touristy ones near the cathedral square, honestly) or tell you when the Christmas markets are least crowded if you’re visiting in winter. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town, but they’ll sort you out with options nearby. I stayed here during both a quiet Tuesday in spring and a bustling weekend in summer, and the experience held up well both times – though if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs for weekend nights when the old town gets lively. The value proposition is solid, especially considering you’re sleeping in the literal center of one of France’s most beautiful cities. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you discovered something special, even though it’s hiding in plain sight.

  What could be improved: El cuadro eléctrico está oculto, dentro de un armario cerrado con llave y la llave escondida.
  Hubo un corte de corriente eléctrica por saltar el diferencial y no se pudo rearmar durante 1 hora.
  Los teléfonos de contacto que figuran el la documentación del alojamiento, no respondieron en múltiples llamadas.
  El problema se resolvió al rearmar el diferencial tras llamar a Booking para localizar la llave del armario escondida.
  Queja: el cuadro eléctrico del alojamiento debe estar situado en un sitio visible, accesible y sin llave, para poder ser accionado por los huéspedes en caso de fallo de corriente eléctrica.
  Este incidente me hizo perder más de una hora de la mañana del día 16/05/2025

  Très bon emplacement qui permet une découverte facile du marché de Noêl et des différents quartiers de Strasbourg. Rien ne manque en terme d'équipement. Beaucoup de charme.

  Die Lage ganz in der Nähe des Münsters ist top. Vor der Haustür gleich die Fußgängerzone und alle Sehenswürdigkeiten gut zu Fuß erreichbar!
  
  What could be improved: Das Apartment war etwas schwierig zu finden – wir mussten dann nach dem Weg fragen. Die Anzeige über Google Maps war etwas ungenau.
  Es gab leider nur ein Handtuch pro Person. Aufgrund der Hitze haben wir versucht, mit offenem Fenster zu schlafen – es war aber ziemlich laut, weil die ganze Nacht Leute in der Fußgängerzone unterwegs waren

  Wunderschönes, gemütliches Appartement in bester Lage! Die Ausstattung entspricht genau der Beschreibung und den Bildern. Eine zentraler gelegene Wohnung wird schwer zu finden zu sein. Die Abwicklung erfolgte problemlos, der Kontakt mit dem Gastgeber war unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

  A estadia é muito central. Há muito comércio na zona e fica muito perto de transportes para ir a qualquer lado. O apartamento tem os essenciais que precisa para uma boa estadia. Só sugeria terem uma torradeira foi o único que faltou.
  
  What could be improved: Como é uma zona central há muito barulho durante a noite, e devido a antiguidade das janelas não há muito isolamento por isso ouve-se tudo. O que é pena porque seria uma estadia perfeita. A TV por cabo/box não funcionou durante a estadia mas como tinha internet deu para ir ao YouTube para entretermo-nos. Mas acredito que seja uma questão de falta de pilhas no comando porque não conseguimos ligar a box. Pedimos auxílio para tentar perceber como se ligava ou se havia algum problema mas o/a dono/a não nos ajudou. E isso também foi um ponto negativo não houve muita ligação com o/a dono/a do apartamento.
