You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Studio Avec Terrace DOCKS when I first booked it – the name alone sounds a bit corporate, doesn’t it? But honestly, this little gem on Rue du Bassin-d’Austerlitz completely surprised me. The moment you step inside, it’s clear someone actually thought about how real people live and travel. The studio layout is smart without being cramped, and that terrace they mention in the name? It’s not just some tiny balcony – you’ve got actual space to sit with your morning coffee and watch the neighborhood wake up.

What I really love about this spot is how it sits right in the heart of Strasbourg’s newer district, but you’re still walking distance from everything that matters. The Bassin d’Austerlitz is literally right there (hence the street name, obviously), and I mean, you can hear the gentle lapping of water if you open your windows at night. It’s surprisingly peaceful for being so central. The whole Deux-Rives area has this interesting mix of modern architecture and old industrial charm – you’ll see what I mean when you’re wandering around. Plus, getting to Petite France or the cathedral is maybe a 15-minute stroll along the water, which beats dealing with trams during tourist season.

The practical stuff matters too, and this place gets it right. Check-in was smooth (they actually answered their phone when I called about arriving late), and the little kitchen setup means you’re not stuck eating out every meal – which, let’s be honest, gets expensive fast in Strasbourg. The shower has proper water pressure, the wifi actually works for video calls, and there’s enough storage that you won’t be living out of your suitcase. I’ll be real with you though – if you’re someone who needs hotel-style daily housekeeping, this isn’t that kind of place. But if you want to feel like you’re staying in a friend’s well-appointed apartment rather than a generic hotel room, you’ll get why this spot has such high ratings. The terrace alone makes it worth booking, especially if you’re visiting during spring or summer when you can actually enjoy being outside without freezing.

  The studio is modern, cozy and stylish. I have been going to Strasbourg for work for years and for the first time felt at home there. Every little detail has been thought of. The balcony is great with a lovely view.. The area is also fascinating with the canals and bridges. There are many restaurants and bars in the building and around it. And the UGC cinema is across the canal. The studio is also at walking distance from the city centre.

  The building was in a perfect location just between the tram stop and Rivetoile (a shopping mall where we did all our grocery etc. shopping) The apartment was so cozy, spacious (for 2) with lots of closet space.
  We found it spotless clean. The kitchen included all essential equipment. The view & terrace were lovely. There were numerous restaurants we frequented just at the opposite side of the building.
  We hope to stay there each time we visit Strasbourg from now on.

  The view right onto the beautiful river is amazing. The apartment provides everything we needed and is close to the center of the city. The host was especially friendly and helpful with clear instructions on parking and access to the premises. Would come back any time!

  Modern, spotless aptm in a trendy part of Strasbourg only a few stops frm centre. (Easy tram C ride to station). Lovely view of canal frm large balcony. Restaurants + shops v close. Ideal fr pleasant + safe evening walks, also with children.
  
  What could be improved: No air-con but excellent large fan provided which proved totally sufficient.
