Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about this place? The name basically tells you everything – it’s got that sleek, modern vibe but sits right where you can actually see the cathedral spires from some rooms. I mean, when a hotel puts “Cathedral View” in the name and delivers on it, that’s already a good sign.

The location on Rue des Petites Fermes is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood instead of some touristy bubble. It’s this quiet residential street that most visitors never find, but here’s the thing – you’re literally eight minutes from all the action in Grande Île. I timed it because, well, I’m that person. The tram stop is practically at your doorstep, which is huge in Strasbourg since the tram system actually works (unlike some cities I could mention). And they’ve got parking, which anyone who’s driven in Strasbourg’s old town will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The building itself has this interesting mix going on – modern renovations inside what’s clearly an older structure. You can tell they put thought into the design instead of just slapping some IKEA furniture around and calling it “urban chic.” The rooms have this clean, minimalist thing happening but with enough character that you don’t feel like you’re sleeping in an office building. I stayed during late spring and honestly loved opening the windows at night – it gets properly quiet once the evening settles in, just the occasional tram in the distance. The 8.1 rating makes sense to me because while everything works well and looks good, it’s not trying to be some luxury palace. It’s more like… well-executed comfort, if that makes sense.

What really won me over was how the staff seemed to know their neighborhood. When I asked about dinner spots, they didn’t just point me toward the tourist traps near the cathedral – they mentioned this little winstub on Rue du Faubourg de Pierre that I never would’ve found otherwise. That kind of local knowledge tells you the people working here actually live in Strasbourg, not just commuting in from somewhere else. The check-in was smooth, no drama with the parking situation, and they had proper suggestions for getting around without looking like you just fell off the tour bus.

Honestly, if you’re the type who wants to stay somewhere that feels connected to the actual city rather than floating above it, this works really well. You’re close enough to walk to Petite France when the mood strikes, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with crowds of tourists stumbling past your window at midnight. The cathedral views are legit from the right rooms – not every room gets them, so ask when you book if that matters to you. It’s the kind of place I’d book again without hesitation, especially knowing how tricky it can be to find that sweet spot between location, comfort, and not feeling like you’re staying in a generic chain hotel.

  • Superb – Suzelle from United States – 1 June 2025 (9/10)

My friend and I loved this apartment. It was so cute and comfortable. It's not close to that many things, but it does have a grocery and a couple places to eat nearby. The metro is right infront of the apartment so it's VERY convenient!

  • Great location – Stephen from United Kingdom – 26 May 2025 (8/10)

Great location right next to the tram station

What could be improved: Nice apartment very clean and roomy the block was a little tired looking but the owners had done a nice job on the apartment

  • Convenient location and comfortable clean flat with helpful owners – Margz from United Kingdom – 10 August 2024 (8/10)

Tram stop right outside was brilliant and the flat was comfortable. Good to have a balcony

What could be improved: Initial access a bit stressful

  • Pleasant stay in a great location. Big cozy apartment good enough for a group – Terri from Netherlands – 8 January 2024 (9/10)

The stay was pleasant and the location was very convenient as there is a tram stop right in front. We enjoyed our stay very much! There were lots of pillows. 😀 Our hosts were very nice and accommodating. The apartment was big enough for a group and the heating worked really well. The rainshower was amazing!

What could be improved: 1. It would be nice to have a sink by the toilet for convenience and hygiene.
    2. Housekeeping did not refill the shower gel and dishwashing tab, so we were washing by hand.
    3. The place could be more secure. Keys were not necessary to access the gate and the first door to the building.

  • Great apartment for a short stay to Strasbourg. – Mark from United Kingdom – 16 June 2023 (9/10)

Superb apartment, well equipped, clean and tidy. Close to tram station so easy access into the city.

What could be improved: No negatives.

  • Superb – Stefana from Germany – 20 March 2023 (9/10)

The apartment is very cosy, well organised and clean. Everything I ve needed was there.
The check in was very easy, the hosts were very responsive and nice. The area was very quiet, though it was near the tram station it didn't bothered me at all. The cathedral is 5 stops away by tram, very easy to reach. Only positive things are to be said about my experience!

  • Superb – Yvon from Italy – 24 August 2022 (9/10)

The appartment was great, nice view on the Cathédrale. Tramway right there and restaurant s and grocery closed by.

  • Fantastic place – Prudence from Australia – 12 December 2024 (10/10)

Best Airbnb we have ever stayed at – hosts were great communicators, clean and comfortable, cleaner met us to give us the keys and was so lovely.

    What could be improved: nil

  • Great apartment, easy check in – Marija from Serbia – 30 August 2023 (10/10)

Place is big, well equipped, Lidl is close if this is important to someone. It has great view towards the city. The backyard is nice and safe, with key on the gate.

What could be improved: Usually in the evening a lot of people drink on the street close to the building and make noise. If you are with a group of people it is not a problem, but if you are alone, you should better use tram to get home in the evening.
