Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name “Strasbourg mon Amour” sounds almost cheesy until you’re actually standing on Quai Charles Frey at sunset, watching the light bounce off the Ill River, and then it just… makes sense. This little Airbnb sits right along the water in what I’d call the quieter stretch of the quai – you’re close enough to hear the gentle lapping against the embankment but far enough from the tourist crowds that swarm around Petite France.
The apartment itself is honestly what you’d hope for when someone promises “cozy” in the listing. It’s got that lived-in European charm without feeling cramped, though I mean, it’s still Strasbourg – space is at a premium everywhere here. What I really appreciated was how the owner clearly knows the neighborhood. There were these little touches, like a handwritten note about which boulangerie opens earliest (it’s the one on Rue du Faubourg National, if you’re wondering) and honest warnings about when the church bells get going in the morning. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s solid and thoughtful in ways that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days.
Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned if you want to experience Strasbourg like someone who actually lives here rather than just hitting the cathedral and calling it done. The European Parliament is a pleasant walk along the water – I actually enjoyed that route more than I expected, especially in the early evening when the locals are out jogging. And honestly, being on this side of the center means you’ll stumble onto those little wine bars in Krutenau that most tourists never find. The tram stops are close enough that you won’t be doing that thing where you’re checking Google Maps every five minutes, but you’re also in a spot where walking feels natural. One heads up though – parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, which seems to be the case pretty much everywhere in this city. The host was helpful about that, but it’s still Strasbourg, so patience required. What really sold me on the place was this: on my last morning, I grabbed coffee from around the corner and sat by the window watching the city wake up along the quai, and it felt like I’d found this perfect little pocket of the city that was both totally French and somehow just mine for a few days.
Hotels in Strasbourg offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and Alsatian charm, with many featuring regional wine concierge services and traditional half-timbered architecture to enhance the authentic Franco-German cultural experience.

Superb – Emily from Hong Kong – 27 December 2022 (9/10)
Great location and very clean apartment on the top floor of a walk up building.
What could be improved: If you are tall, over 6ft 2in (my partner is this tall), the slanted walls were a little uncomfortable for him 🙂 nothing can be done about that though! 🙂Very good – Yael from Israel – 4 December 2022 (8/10)
Great location, very comfortable, clean, easy to get to. Very cute and cozy!
What could be improved: It's on the 4th floor with no elevator. It was hard to contact the owner.Superb – Norachka from Belgium – 4 December 2022 (9/10)
This was the second time I had stayed here. It is in such a great location. For me going up 4 flights of stairs was not a problems. Kettle, plates, fridge – all there.
What could be improved: N/AVery good – Bavicha from Portugal – 1 January 2025 (8/10)
The location of the apartment was amazing because it was in the center of strasbourg. Everything was so near the cathedral. It was just a 5 min walk to the city center were everything is located .
What could be improved: The only thing that was not nice, was the fact there was a lot of stairs and it's the last floor. So if you have heavy luggage it's a task.Tiny spot with a sweet view, and good location to explore the city. – Emilie from United States – 16 August 2024 (9/10)
The location was great, easily accessible, and provided a genuine Strasbourg experience.
What could be improved: The apartment was so small that it was hard to find things at times. I had to move the coffee maker to plug it in, and didn't find the garbage can until the second day. As another reviewer mentioned, the bath mat has surpassed it's intended life-span, and needs to be replaced. Finally, the bed included a comforter. For a July visit, on a top floor apartment with no air conditioning, it was too hot, yet I would have liked something.Very good – Esther from France – 21 June 2024 (8/10)
Perfect location, vert quiet, good bed
What could be improved: The flat is on the 4th floor without lift which is not mentioned when booking. Not a problem for us but if I would have booked this place for my mother and me, she would not have been able to walk up.
