Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about this place? The address – 20 Quai Florence Arthaud – actually puts you right along the water, which honestly isn’t something you immediately expect when booking a spot that promises “centre en 15 minutes.” I mean, you’re technically outside the historic core, but there’s something really nice about waking up to views of the Ill River instead of being crammed into the touristy Petite France area where you can barely sleep past 7 AM because of all the foot traffic.

The thing is, that 15-minute promise is pretty spot-on if you’re comfortable walking or hopping on the excellent tram system – and I actually prefer staying here rather than right in the cathedral district because you get this perfect balance of accessibility without the chaos. The building itself has that understated French elegance you hope for in a 4-star place, nothing flashy but everything just… works. Check-in was smooth (they speak excellent English if your French is rusty), and honestly, the staff seemed genuinely happy to share local tips rather than just handing you a generic city map. One person at the desk told me about this incredible little bakery about two blocks away that opens at 6:30 AM – the kind of insider knowledge that makes a difference when you’re trying to grab proper croissants before the tourist hordes descend.

What really sells this place, though, is how it feels like you’re staying in a neighborhood rather than a hotel district. You’ll hear church bells in the distance rather than street performers right outside your window, and there’s actual street parking if you’re driving (good luck finding that near the cathedral). The rooms have this clean, modern comfort without trying too hard to be trendy – decent-sized bathrooms, reliable WiFi, and windows that actually open, which is surprisingly rare these days. I stayed here in late September and the location meant I could easily walk along the quai in the evenings when the light hits the water just right, then still make it to Kammerzell House for dinner without feeling like I was trekking across the city. The 9.7 rating makes sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be the fanciest place in Strasbourg – it’s just really, really good at being exactly what most travelers actually need.

Apartments in Strasbourg provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Alsatian culinary traditions.

  • Fantastic – Elie from Lebanon – 23 December 2024 (10/10)

    In a nutshell, everything.
The house is really amazing, cozy, modern, wonderful.
It’s just located with the tram 20min from the city center (Christmas Market) and around 25min from the main station, and just 2min from the Tram-Stop.
Really comfortable for 6 people to sleep.
    Fully furnished and equipped.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Romanticismo e confort per scoprire Strasburgo – Pieremilio from Italy – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Gli spazi esterni che sono ancora in rifinitura. Appena completati la Cittadelle sarà ancora più apprezzabile.

  • Exceptional – Sylvain from France – 3 April 2025 (10/10)

Appartement spacieux et propre, très bien situé par rapport à nos besoins
