Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name sounds absolutely ridiculous – Splendide T3 proche Petite France Dragon – but honestly, it’s actually pretty spot-on once you’re there. I mean, you really are ridiculously close to Petite France (like, genuinely a five-minute walk), and there’s something sort of whimsical about the whole setup that makes the dragon reference not seem completely random.

The location on Rue du Dragon is one of those narrow Strasbourg streets that feels properly European without being touristy-fake about it. You’ll hear the trams rumbling by in the morning, but it’s not obnoxious – more like a gentle reminder that you’re in a real city that people actually live in. The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense Alsatian feel, and when you walk in, it’s clear someone put thought into making a three-star place feel more expensive than it is. The T3 designation, by the way, just means it’s a three-room apartment setup – which I actually loved because it felt like staying in someone’s well-appointed flat rather than a generic hotel room.

What really won me over was how the whole thing just works without trying too hard. The kitchen area is small but functional (perfect for morning coffee and pastries from the boulangerie around the corner), and the living space actually has character – proper furniture, decent lighting, windows that open properly so you can hear the city waking up. The bedroom’s comfortable enough that I didn’t spend the whole night aware I was sleeping in a strange bed, which honestly is my main test for any place. And here’s the thing about being this close to Petite France – you can wander over there in the evening when the day-trippers have cleared out and it’s just locals and the occasional tourist who knows what they’re doing. The canals look completely different at dusk, sort of mysterious instead of postcard-pretty. Plus, you’re walking distance from some genuinely good restaurants that aren’t just serving tourist-trap choucroute – though honestly, even the tourist choucroute in Strasbourg is pretty decent. The 8.5 rating makes sense to me because this isn’t trying to be fancy, it’s just trying to be good at what it does, and mostly succeeding. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel like I was actually living in Strasbourg for a few days instead of just passing through.

Reviews

  • Very good – Nikolaos from Greece – 22 April 2025 (8/10)

Nice centrally located apartment ideal for families.

What could be improved: The apartment has the same key as the building s entrance. We didn’t feel secure all the time. Also there is no direct contact when you need them. They left two rolls of toilet paper for four persons for five nights. When I asked for extra 1-2 rolls they refused. I bought a whole packet of rolls and left them there when I left. Not so decent house policies.
Ps. The tap in the bathroom barely ran and the WiFi info in the apartment were wrong. Had to send email and they responded two days after.

  • Exceptional – Gillian from United Kingdom – 4 April 2025 (10/10)

Well organised for everything you would need

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Great stay with a nice view on the church – Constanze from Austria – 11 August 2024 (10/10)

We really enjoyed the flat as well as the interior design. There was enough coffee for our stay.

What could be improved: It is on the third floor, we came with a small child and had to carry the stroller. It was ok.

  • Good – Zeki from Turkey – 11 July 2025 (7/10)

Location great. Flat was nice and cosy but rather small.

What could be improved: three floors climbing. No elevator. Stairs and flat floors make too much sound.

  • Incredibly equipped and in an Incredible location. Would definitely recommend this place. – Mendonça from Portugal – 25 March 2025 (9/10)

The house is very well equipped and the hosts are extremely helpful. We did not have internet initially, but it was rapidly solved after a text. The hosts even offered coffee capsules and tea, which was a plus. The location is excellent, you can easily reach any main place in the city within walking distance. Overall, the house was incredible.

What could be improved: The thermal accumulator was a bit too small for five people, and we sometimes ran out of hot water. The sink is a bit too tight, which makes it difficult to brush your teeth.

  • Perfect location, easy to get to everything, quiet, very clean apartment, had everything we needed. – Lucinda from United Kingdom – 14 July 2025 (9/10)

Great little two-bed apartment in a nice and quiet area near Petite France. Easy to walk to everything from here. My friend, who lives in Strasbourg, recommended this area so that's why I booked it and I am glad we did. The apartment had everything we needed and was very clean. Great that you can open the windows for fresh air as the weather was hot. Comfy beds too. Highly recommend. Would definitely return.

What could be improved: We liked everything!

  • Superb – Adrienne-celine from Germany – 16 June 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Das Badezimmer Waschbecken ist etwas klein und der Wasserstrahl sehr schwach.

  • Exceptional – Sarah from France – 5 March 2025 (10/10)

    What could be improved: Rien!

  • Very good – Estela from Spain – 13 September 2024 (8/10)

    La ubicación excelente.

  • Gute Lage (zum IRCAD insbesondere), geräumig, guter Preis. Sauber. – Janina from Germany – 26 June 2024 (9/10)

Beim Check Out soll man u.a. alles abwaschen und den Müll entleeren.
