Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment I walked up to 92 Grand’Rue, I realized I was literally standing in the heart of Strasbourg’s old town – like, the kind of medieval street where you half expect to see merchants in period costumes. But then you step inside and it’s this surprisingly modern duplex that actually uses its space intelligently (rare for European city centers, honestly).

The duplex setup is pretty clever – you’ve got your living space downstairs and sleeping area upstairs, which means you can spread out without feeling like you’re living in a hotel room. The ceilings are higher than you’d expect for a historic building, and there’s this nice natural light that filters in during the day. I mean, Grand’Rue can get a bit lively with foot traffic since it’s one of the main pedestrian streets, but that also means you’re about a three-minute walk from Cathédrale Notre-Dame – not the Paris one, obviously, but Strasbourg’s Gothic masterpiece that’s honestly just as impressive. The morning light hitting those spires from your windows is something else.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep the old-world charm without sacrificing modern comfort. The kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to grab ingredients from the local markets (Place du Marché aux Poissons is right around the corner), and honestly, after spending days eating out in restaurants, having the option to make coffee exactly how you like it is kind of a luxury. Storage space is decent too – I’ve stayed in plenty of European apartments where you’re living out of a suitcase because there’s nowhere to put anything. The bathroom situation upstairs works well, though fair warning, if you’re not great with stairs after a long day of walking around the city, you might want to plan accordingly. Strasbourg’s cobblestones are beautiful but they’ll definitely give your feet a workout. Parking can be tricky in this area – well, it’s tricky everywhere in the old town really – but there are a couple of public garages within reasonable walking distance if you’re driving. The tram system here is fantastic though, so you might not even need a car depending on your plans. Place Kléber is maybe a five-minute walk, and from there you can get pretty much anywhere in the city.

Apartments in Strasbourg provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Alsatian culinary traditions.

Reviews

  • Great location but attic with split level was inconvenient. – Edgard from Canada – 13 December 2024 (8/10)

    Location, comfort and cleanliness

What could be improved: Too many stairs and bathroom and bedrooms were not on the same level. Shower was not great.
Being this at the attic makes it inconvenient with very low beams.

Emails with unfamiliar links for deposits and security photos was not welcome. These days one hesitates to click on unfamiliar links.

4m is too late for check in and 10 am to early for check out.. most places are 3pm and 11am respectively.

  • Very good – Stephen from United Kingdom – 27 October 2024 (8/10)

    Location was excellent

What could be improved: The stairs

  • great place in the centre of town – Jason from Australia – 8 January 2023 (9/10)

traditional place in the centre of town, excellent equipped kitchen

What could be improved: no toilet in upstairs bathroom

  • It was okey because of location – Songül from Turkey – 21 May 2024 (8/10)

    Location was perfect

What could be improved: Bed wasn’t very clean
Buiding steps were so narrow and it was very hard to claim flat:(
We wanted to check out one hour late but no one didn’t reply our mail 🙁 if you need some one to ask anything its not possible to reach anyone

  • Comfortable and spacious property in the perfect location. – Adriana from United States – 11 July 2025 (10/10)

The location is absolutely perfect! Cannot be in a better area. The property was spacious and very clean. Everything we needed they had and were very responsive. Would stay here again without thinking twice.

What could be improved: Loved everything.

  • Passable – Paul from Austria – 13 October 2024 (5/10)

    Location is nice and central.

What could be improved: The flat is on the 4th floor, as described. However, the stairs are steep, narrow and dangerous (no handrails), and not recommendable at all. Bed room is on the 5th floor, without toilet on that floor. You have to go down, again very steep and narrow, to the 4th floor.
Coming by car, it is not really convenient, as no parking in the vicinity.

  • J’aime cette ville ! – Francois from France – 19 May 2025 (8/10)

    Emplacement, superficie, charme, authenticité !

What could be improved: Check out a 10h00 !

  • Superb – Elvira from Switzerland – 31 May 2024 (9/10)

Très bon emplacement! L'appartement était très propre et fonctionnel.

  • Au top nous reviendrons – Sabrina from France – 25 April 2024 (9/10)

    Emplacement et espace

What could be improved: La porte de l’immeuble jamais fermée

  • Very good – Chryan from France – 24 August 2023 (8/10)

Logement spacieux, fonctionnel, très bien situé en zone piétonne. Parking très proche gratuit la nuit.

What could be improved: Escaliers raides et peu larges, appartement sous les toits sans climatisation
