But actually walking up to 37 Rue du Gazon, you realize this little three-star spot has more personality than you’d expect. The street itself is pretty quiet, which is saying something when you’re this close to the train station – I mean, you can literally hear the announcements if you listen hard enough, but it’s not the kind of noise that’ll keep you up at night.

What really surprised me was how the location works in your favor. You know how some hotels say they’re “near the station” and then you’re dragging your luggage for twenty minutes? Well, this isn’t that. It’s genuinely a quick walk to Gare de Strasbourg, which honestly makes it perfect if you’re doing day trips to Colmar or heading back to Paris. But here’s the thing – you’re also right in this neighborhood that feels actually French, not touristy. There’s a little boulangerie around the corner where the locals go for their morning coffee, and you’ll hear more German than English on the streets, which I sort of love about Strasbourg anyway. The Rue du Gazon area has that lived-in feel where people are just going about their business.

The hotel itself is… well, it’s solid. I mean, don’t expect anything fancy – it’s got that practical European vibe where everything works but nobody’s trying to impress you with marble lobbies or whatever. The rooms are clean and surprisingly quiet given how central you are. You can actually open the windows without getting blasted by traffic noise, which is rare for city hotels. Staff seems genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. I had to ask about parking (because honestly, driving in Strasbourg’s old town is a nightmare), and they pointed me to a spot that didn’t cost a fortune.

What I really appreciated was being able to walk to the Cathedral – it takes maybe fifteen minutes if you don’t get distracted by all the half-timbered houses, which you will. And you’re close enough to Petite France that you can stroll over for dinner without planning your whole evening around transportation. The 7.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it does exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially when Strasbourg itself is the real star of the show anyway.

  La localisation de l’appartement à proximité du tram qui permet de rejoindre facilement le centre ville. Ensuite l’appartement est suffisamment spacieux avec beaucoup de rangements. La déco est soignée.
