Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first pulled up to Riadh on Avenue de Colmar, I wasn’t exactly blown away by the exterior. It’s one of those solid, no-nonsense buildings that blend into Strasbourg’s newer residential areas, and you know what? That actually turned out to be part of its charm. This isn’t some flashy tourist trap trying to impress you with marble lobbies and doormen in fancy uniforms. Instead, it’s the kind of place where the staff actually remembers your name by day two, and the breakfast lady asks if you want your coffee strong again this morning.
The location is honestly pretty clever if you think about it. Yeah, you’re not right in the postcard-perfect Petite France area with all the half-timbered houses, but Avenue de Colmar puts you in this sweet spot where you can actually live like a local for a few days. There’s a decent bakery about two blocks down where the croissants are legitimately better than what you’ll get in the touristy spots, and the tram line is close enough that you can zip into the city center in maybe fifteen minutes – but far enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 2 AM. I mean, the neighborhood gets quiet after dinner, which some people might find boring, but after long days of sightseeing, I actually appreciated being able to sleep without earplugs.
The rooms themselves are… well, they’re exactly what you’d expect from a solid 3-star place. Clean, functional, with that slightly generic European hotel furniture that’s not winning any design awards but gets the job done. The beds are actually pretty comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the shower has decent water pressure, which honestly matters more than fancy toiletries when you’ve been walking around cobblestone streets all day. The Wi-Fi works fine – I was able to video call home without any drama. One thing though: if you’re on the street side, you might hear some traffic in the morning since Avenue de Colmar gets busy with commuters, but it’s not terrible. The back rooms are quieter if that’s your thing.
What really won me over was the breakfast setup. It’s not some elaborate buffet with fifty different options, but everything they do have is actually good quality. Fresh bread, local jams, decent coffee that doesn’t taste like it came from a machine that hasn’t been cleaned since 1987. The dining area gets this nice morning light, and you can sit there planning your day without feeling rushed. The staff – particularly this one woman at the front desk, I think her name was Marie – genuinely seemed to care about helping guests figure out the best ways to get around the city. She told me about this Christmas market route that I never would have found on my own.
Is Riadh going to be the highlight of your Instagram feed? Probably not. But if you want a reliable base for exploring Strasbourg without paying premium prices for being in the absolute center of everything, it’s a solid choice. The 7.4 rating feels about right – it does what it promises to do, just without any unnecessary fuss.

1. Transportation is convenient as the tram station is nearby.
2.The apartment is located right on the road, making it easy to find.
3.Kitchen utensils are provided.
What could be improved: 1. I booked this place because it had private parking, but there was only public parking on the street. Luckily, it wasn't hard to find a free parking spot on the street.
2.It's a small studio, so it's more suitable for one person to stay.
3. This atudio is convenience. But if you are looking for a on vacation or comfort, this is not the place for you.parfait – Fawzia from France – 23 April 2025 (8/10)

– Vito from Italy – 30 December 2024 (5/10)
Very good – Richard from France – 1 January 2025 (8/10)
