The name of this place is absolutely ridiculous – R-Appartements Strasbourg La Petite Strasbourgeoise Hygge studio cosy – I mean, they really went all out trying to hit every possible keyword, didn’t they? But honestly, once you get past that mouthful and climb up to the third floor on Rue Klein, it’s actually a pretty solid little studio that gets the job done.

The location is what really makes this work. Rue Klein isn’t one of those touristy streets that everyone talks about, but that’s sort of the point – you’re tucked into a proper residential neighborhood where actual Strasbourgeois live, which gives you this authentic slice of daily life. I could hear neighbors chatting in the courtyard in the mornings, and there’s this lovely bakery just around the corner that locals line up at (not the one all the guidebooks mention, but honestly better croissants). You’re maybe a 12-minute walk to the cathedral, but more importantly, you’re right there with the tram line that’ll zip you anywhere you need to go. The building itself has that classic Alsatian feel – thick walls that actually keep things quiet, though you will hear some street noise if you’re a super light sleeper.

The studio itself embraces that whole hygge concept they’re going for, with warm lighting and this cozy, lived-in vibe that doesn’t feel sterile like some of these short-term rentals. The kitchen setup is small but functional – I managed to make proper coffee and even attempted some local sausages I picked up at the market. What I appreciated was how everything felt thoughtfully arranged rather than just thrown together. The WiFi actually works (always a relief), and there’s decent storage space, which matters when you’re living out of a suitcase. Check-in was straightforward, though you’ll want to coordinate timing since there’s no front desk – just the usual keybox situation. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood, so if you’re driving, factor in some time to hunt for a spot or budget for one of the nearby lots. The 7.1 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury, but it delivers on being a comfortable, well-located base for exploring Strasbourg without the tourist markup you’d pay closer to Petite France. For what you get and where you are, it’s definitely worth considering, especially if you want to experience the city more like a temporary resident than a typical hotel guest.

  What could be improved: The Stredt is awfully noisy. Clients of the bar and restaurant shout and laugh until late in the night and early in the morning trucks delivering goods way before 7 am. I could only sleep 5 hours…

  Sehr nettes sauberes Appartement , mitten in der Stadt und doch angenehm leise.

  Excellent emplacement dans Strasbourg, très proche du centre ville, facilité de parquer dans un parking fermé à proximité.
