Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “R-Appartements Strasbourg Fenêtresurkrut” I thought someone had a keyboard malfunction, but that name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there. The “fenêtres sur krut” bit means “windows on sauerkraut,” which sounds ridiculous until you realize you’re literally steps away from some of the best Alsatian food in the city. I mean, Rue Klein isn’t exactly the postcard-pretty tourist strip, but that’s actually why this place works so well.
The apartments themselves are proper three-star quality – nothing fancy, but everything you actually need is there and it works. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re right in the heart of things. The street’s narrow enough that you don’t get much traffic noise, and honestly, the walls are thicker than what you’d find in most modern places. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that endless paperwork dance you sometimes get with apartment rentals. The kitchenettes are small but functional, and you know what? Having a proper coffee setup in the morning instead of hunting for an open café made my whole Strasbourg experience better. There’s a Monoprix about a five-minute walk away if you need groceries, though you’ll probably end up eating out more than you planned because the food scene around here is just too good to pass up.
What really sold me on this spot was the location without the location premium, if that makes sense. You’re close enough to the cathedral that you can walk there in about twelve minutes – I timed it because I’m that person – but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tour groups under your windows at 7 AM. The Petite France area is walkable too, and there’s this little wine bar called Au Brasseur that locals actually go to just around the corner on Rue des Tonneliers. The 7.9 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving (street parking fills up fast), but the tram connections are solid from here. I’d definitely stay again, especially if I was planning to spend more time exploring the neighborhoods rather than just hitting the main tourist spots. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re actually staying in Strasbourg, not just visiting it.

What could be improved: A bit noisy for familyI will recommend this property to friends and I will use it again. – Ao from Switzerland – 22 April 2025 (9/10)
Excellent location and the communication of the owner was very good.
What could be improved: The mattress was tired.Nice short stay for the Christmas market. – Fengyuan from United States – 1 December 2024 (9/10)
Great location, very close to the old town center and the tram station. Cozy interior. The host even prepared a little christmas tree and chocolates for us.
Perfect location – Laura from United States – 7 May 2024 (7/10)
Amazing location. Couldn’t be better. This alone makes it worth it. Also, the host is lovely & there is a lock box with keys so easy check in and check out.
What could be improved: Be aware that The apartment, while well located, is directly above a bar/club that is open until 4am. I used earplugs, but light sleepers will have trouble. I still think the location is worth it!in the city centre – Janet from Netherlands – 4 January 2023 (8/10)
the property is in the city centre, that is amazing!
Fantastic location and some good facilities but a bit shabby. – Stephen from United Kingdom – 8 October 2023 (7/10)
Location is excellent. Having a washing machine and dryer was really useful. Kitchen was good if a bit dark.
What could be improved: Bed was not comfortable and the bedding was poor. Tv did not work, possibly the wrong remote control. Much was made in reviews about the noise from the club downstairs but this was fine with the windows closed. However if you wanted the windows open, it would have been very noisy. There was only one hand towel and one bath towel for two people. It could be lovely but felt a bit shabby.I would not stay at this apartment again. – Kassandra from Australia – 2 January 2025 (5/10)
The location of this apartment was the ONLY good thing.
What could be improved: I had to pre-wash all the dishes, cutlery, and frypans BEFORE I could use them they had not been cleaned. One of the wooden spoons STILL had dried food on it! Both beds had lumpy uncomfortable mattresses, the sheets although clean, were very used and old. Bathroom was clean, although the shower floor was dangerously slippery when using soap/shampoo. It was on the 3rd floor without an elevator…this was NOT disclosed in advance. Although the location of the apartment was excellent I felt it was not value for money.Very good – Caroline from Germany – 2 April 2025 (8/10)
La proximité du centre de ville et du parking Austerlitz.
Superb – Giordano from Italy – 23 December 2024 (9/10)
Ottimo – Nada from Italy – 22 August 2024 (8/10)
