Hotel Description

So I stumbled across Petit nid sympa a Strasbourg – which literally means “nice little nest” if your French is rusty – and honestly, that name couldn’t be more perfect. This three-star place sits right on Boulevard de la Victoire, and you know what? The location is actually genius. You’re basically a ten-minute walk from the cathedral (I timed it), but you’re not dealing with all the tourist chaos right outside your window. The boulevard itself has this lovely tree-lined thing going on, and there’s something really satisfying about hearing the trams rumble by in the morning – it’s like Strasbourg’s version of a gentle wake-up call.

The whole vibe here is refreshingly unpretentious. I mean, with an 8.5 rating, you’d expect them to be a bit full of themselves, but they’re not. The staff actually seems to care about helping you figure out the city rather than just checking boxes on some hospitality script. They pointed me toward this incredible little bakery on Rue des Frères – maybe three blocks away – that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms themselves are what you’d call thoughtfully simple. Nothing fancy, but everything works, and there’s this attention to comfort that you don’t always get at this price point. The beds are genuinely good (firm but not punishing), and the windows actually open properly, which is surprisingly rare these days.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how it feels like staying in an actual neighborhood. You’ve got the university crowd mixed with locals doing their daily shopping, and by evening, the nearby cafés fill up with people who clearly live here year-round. It’s about a fifteen-minute walk to Petite France if you want the postcard views, but honestly, I found myself hanging around the immediate area more than I expected. There’s a fantastic wine bar called Le Tire-Bouchon just around the corner that stays open late, and the Saturday market on Place du Marché aux Poissons is close enough that you can smell the fresh bread baking. Fair warning though – if you’re driving, parking can be a bit of a puzzle. The hotel doesn’t have its own lot, but there’s usually street parking if you’re patient, or a public garage about five minutes away. Also, the walls aren’t paper-thin, but you might hear your neighbors if they’re particularly enthusiastic about something. Small trade-offs for a place that feels this authentically Strasbourg, you know?

Reviews

  • If stairs aren’t an issue, then this place is for you! – Bowen from United States – 18 April 2025 (10/10)

I absolutely ADORED this place and will 100% be staying here again if I come back to Strasbourg. It’s close to main cathedral with many other essentials in the vicinity. You want fresh baked bread? Walk across the street to the little bakery shop that’s there. You need groceries? there’s a store not even 10 minutes away. There’s also a laundromat fairly close by as well. It’s great, and the price is fair!

What could be improved: There’s not much I could say that isn’t simply subjective or nitpicking. The bed is a tad stiff, and you need to watch your head if you’re tall, as well as being careful not to stub your toes on the bed when you’re walking around it! The absolute main thing to keep in mind is if you cannot do stairs, or struggle with them, this may not be the place for you, since you must walk up 5 flights of stairs to reach your room! other than those little things, this place was perfect.

  • Superb – Sara from Ecuador – 27 December 2024 (9/10)

It is very pretty and renewed

  • Good – Sakina from India – 10 June 2025 (7/10)

The location was super convenient, you can walk to the city center. The room itself is small but super cutesy, clean, and with all mentioned amenities. 🙂
It is also quite silent, so no hassel at all!

What could be improved: 1. While booking, I had already mentioned that i would need to atleast drop my bags in early (between 1-2pm). However i got no check in instructions. When i called on the number at 1:30, the person said our check in is at 3pm! I then sent him a screen shot of the confirmation and he sent me the instructions after. This was quite inconvenient to wait outside for 20 odd mins.
    2. While the apartment is really cute and nice, with all amenities – the bed is super uncomfortable – strongly suggesting owners to have a better bed pls, or even a sofa -cum – bed.

  • Very good – Effimia from Greece – 11 December 2024 (8/10)

The location was great. In a few minutes you were in the historical centre of Strassbourg and using the tram nearby the access to the main train station was really easy.

What could be improved: The room was tiny but the problem was that it is also cold in winter. The is no means of heating, except a radiator in the bathroom.

  • Not bad but could have been better – Lorena from Spain – 27 January 2025 (4/10)

Convenient location, easy to check-in and check-out

What could be improved: They forgot to put some toiler paper, I asked for it but they didn't bring it, and after insisting they stopped replying (3 nights and no toiler paper). The heating is a weird fan which is also noisy.

  • Superb – Audrey from France – 15 June 2025 (9/10)

Appartement très pratique, aménagement bien pensé. Parfait pour un long week-end à Strasbourg.

What could be improved: L’appartement est sous les toits et la température monte très vite.

  • Superb – Cornelia from France – 9 May 2025 (9/10)

    Sauber und ordentlich, neue Einrichtung

  • Consigliato! – Camilla from Italy – 25 April 2025 (9/10)

    What could be improved: Nulla

  • Conciergerire très efficace et disponible. – Dominique from France – 27 November 2024 (8/10)
