Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Petit Manoir en Ville? The name actually fits – it really does feel like staying in someone’s charming townhouse rather than a typical hotel. I mean, you’re on Rue de Plobsheim, which honestly sounds intimidating if you don’t speak French, but it’s actually this quiet residential street that gives you a proper taste of how locals live in Strasbourg. The whole setup just works – there’s this lovely contrast between feeling tucked away in a neighborhood and still being close enough to everything that matters.
The private parking situation is honestly a godsend, and I can’t stress this enough if you’re driving in Strasbourg. Most visitors don’t realize how tricky parking gets in the city center, especially around the cathedral area where all the tourists congregate. Here, you can actually relax about your car, which is huge. The 15-minute walk to the hyper-centre they mention? Well, it’s more like 12 minutes if you walk at a decent pace, and the route takes you through some really pleasant streets – not the boring highway-adjacent trudge you sometimes get with “centrally located” places. You’ll pass a few local bakeries and that sort of authentic neighborhood vibe that makes you feel like you’re discovering something.
What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail that you only notice after you’ve been in enough hotels to appreciate it. The rooms have this warm, residential feeling – good linens that actually stay tucked in, proper reading lights (thank god), and windows that open to let in fresh air, which might sound basic but you’d be surprised how many places seal you in completely. The breakfast area has this lived-in quality where you can imagine settling in with a book, and the staff genuinely seems to remember your preferences after a day or two. I stayed during late spring, and the whole area was pretty quiet in the evenings – you get the gentle sounds of people coming home from work, maybe some conversation from the café down the street, but nothing that keeps you awake. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be flashy or revolutionary, just consistently good at what it promises. If you’re the type who wants to feel like a temporary local rather than a tourist checking boxes, and you value having your own space to retreat to after wandering around Petite France and the cathedral all day, this place gets it right.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Strasbourg through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich Franco-German heritage.

Reviews
Superb – Terri from Canada – 19 September 2024 (9/10)
Lovely oasis in the city.
What could be improved: A bit of a lapse in communication. They were very good about telling us about the house alarm code but neglected to tell us the code for the lock box.Charming Unique Property – Lewis from United Kingdom – 30 December 2023 (9/10)
the unique character of the house was charming. the location was convenient for the tram. well equipped kitchen.
What could be improved: the sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable. probably fine for children rather than adultsVery good – Rehné from Denmark – 21 July 2023 (8/10)
Nice little charming house with very cozy garden, not far from the tram.
What could be improved: Mosquitos
it would be nice with a set of garden furniture (a table and 4 chairs) to make it possible to sit outside.Very Interesting Stay, lots of space and very conveniently located – Vladimir from Kuwait – 5 March 2025 (8/10)
Very interesting location, full house with good space and with recent renewals.
Very close to transportation and local shops
Very spacious garage
What could be improved: The way to the house from the garage can be a bit tricky at night, not enough light and muddy/rocky way, Hard to bring rolling suitcases.
very narrow staircase to the bedrooms, so ended up leaving the suitcase in the living room and just bringing up the necessary. Consider this if traveling with kids 😉Superb – Jean-marc from Belgium – 16 June 2023 (9/10)
It was a lovely place, walking distance to the tram station.
Advice: Be sure to let the host know what time is the expected time of arrival so as not to wait to 40 minutes before checking in.Good – Fritz from Australia – 16 July 2023 (7/10)
Good location, very nice house and garden, good transport into old town.
What could be improved: Key pickup was bad, information was sent too late. We booked for 3 days, but access is only from 17:00 hours (keys arrived at 18:15) whereas exit was 10:00 hours, unfair at least.
The house was extremely hot almost throughout our stay, only fans were provided, but AC is needed, at least upstairs. A folder with instructions regarding TV, internet, garbage etc. should be provided, as is usual in most places. A small issue: no tea towels in kitchen.Exceptional – Viter from Ukraine – 4 October 2023 (10/10)
Beautiful garden and house interior. Large living area and comfortable kitchen.
It was very good and we enjoyed staying there. – Ali from Saudi Arabia – 27 September 2023 (10/10)
Location, cleanness and comfort.
What could be improved: There is no drying machine and the stair is very narrow which make it difficult to use and cannot take the bags upstairs.Bad – Valentin from Romania – 27 July 2024 (1/10)
What could be improved: The persistent smell of mold allover the old house, humidity and lot of mosquitos. Spider nets in the corners. Unsanitary basement. No ventilation, no AC. We couldn't stay there and left.
Jolie maison – Carine from France – 27 July 2024 (8/10)
Très jolie maison meublée avec goût, au calme et non loin du centre-ville.
What could be improved: Il y avait une erreur dans l’adresse, mais nous avons fini par trouver.
