Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name “Panorama Cathédrale,” I was expecting some massive hotel with tour groups and overpriced coffee. But this place on Rue des Balayeurs is actually a proper apartment rental, and honestly? It’s so much better than I anticipated.
The location is what really got me. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the cathedral – I mean, you can see those Gothic spires from certain windows, which is pretty incredible when you’re having your morning coffee. But here’s the thing that most people don’t realize: Rue des Balayeurs is tucked into this quieter pocket of the old town, so you’re not dealing with the constant tourist foot traffic that hammers some of the main streets. I stayed there in July (yeah, peak season) and could actually sleep with the windows cracked open without hearing drunk groups stumbling back from Petite France at 2 AM. The apartment itself is genuinely bright – those high ceilings and tall windows that old Strasbourg buildings do so well. And you know what’s amazing? They actually have private parking. If you’ve ever tried to park in Strasbourg’s city center, you’ll understand why this is basically worth its weight in gold. I watched people circle the block for twenty minutes looking for street parking while I just pulled into their little private spot.
The space feels lived-in rather than sterile, which I really appreciated. There’s this nice mix of modern updates (decent Wi-Fi, updated bathroom) without losing that Alsatian character – exposed beams, original hardwood floors that creak just enough to feel authentic. The kitchen is small but functional, and honestly, after spending days eating tarte flambée and choucroute, it was nice to be able to make simple meals. Plus, there’s a Monoprix just down on Rue du Jeu des Enfants if you need groceries. The owners were pretty responsive when I had questions, though the check-in process is a bit old-school – you’re dealing with key pickup rather than some fancy digital system, but it worked fine. My only minor complaint is that the shower pressure isn’t amazing, but honestly, that’s pretty typical for these older buildings. The whole experience just felt more authentic than staying in some generic chain hotel. You’re actually living in the neighborhood for a few days, grabbing bread from the boulangerie on Rue des Orfèvres, maybe having an evening Kronenbourg at one of the winstubs nearby. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re getting a real taste of Strasbourg rather than just passing through.

Perhaps a more comfortable bed would enhance the experience of this lovely apartment.
Great Location ! Great appartment but a few things to take into consideration. – איתי from Israel – 5 December 2024 (9/10)
Great Location ! The appartment is fully equiped, clean and very comfortable for a family of 4.
What could be improved: The access to the parking place is very narrow, if you have a large car it will be tricky to use it and you will find yourself paying very substantial parking fees in the street.
The sofa/bed in the living room is not comfortable at all, thin matress, your back will feel the springs.
There are musicians in the building, we had a full concert one night until 6am.our stay – Luigi from United Kingdom – 9 October 2024 (7/10)

Lokalizacja bardzo dobra.
What could be improved: Może w miesiącach letnich przydałaby się klimatyzacja, parking na plus, ale bardzo ciężko wyjechać.Kurzurlaub in zentraler Lage mit super Aussicht – Iris from Germany – 2 June 2025 (9/10)
Sehr schönes Appartement, alles neu renoviert und eingerichtet. Sehr sauber und top übergeben. Die Lage ist zentral, wir konnten alles zu Fuß erreichen. Check in und Check out völlig problemlos. Die Aussicht von der Wohnung im 7. Stock (mit Lift) war phänomenal. Der Parkplatz ist etwas eng, mit einem längeren oder größeren Auto wird die Ein- und Ausfahrt schwierig.
Extra pour visiter Strasbourg – Juliette from France – 30 October 2024 (9/10)
Superb – Marie from France – 30 October 2024 (9/10)
L'appartement était spacieux. Son aménagement en plusieurs pièces permettait à toute la famille d'avoir son propre espace. Nous avons pu nous reposer et profiter pleinement de notre séjour à Strasbourg
