Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about OKKO Hotels Strasbourg Centre? It’s actually tucked away on Rue du Bassin d’Austerlitz in a way that feels both central and surprisingly quiet – which honestly is pretty rare in Strasbourg’s city center. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the cathedral and all that tourist chaos, but the street itself has this calm, residential vibe that locals seem to appreciate.

The whole place has this modern, almost Scandinavian feel that’s refreshing after wandering through all those half-timbered buildings (gorgeous as they are, they can feel a bit museum-like after a while). What I really appreciated was how the staff actually knew the neighborhood – not just the obvious stuff like where Grande Île is, but they pointed me toward this little bakery around the corner that apparently does the best kougelhopf in the quarter. The rooms themselves are clean-lined and comfortable, with these floor-to-ceiling windows that make even the compact spaces feel airy. The beds are genuinely good – I’m talking proper sleep, not that stiff hotel mattress situation you sometimes get.

Here’s something that matters if you’re driving: parking isn’t a nightmare here like it can be near the cathedral area. There’s actually decent street parking if you don’t mind walking a block or two, plus they can direct you to a proper garage nearby. The 8.4 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works exactly as it should. Check-in was smooth (they speak English well, but throwing out a “bonjour” definitely gets you warmer service), and the whole operation feels efficiently run without being corporate-sterile. If you’re planning to explore both the historic center and maybe venture over to the European Quarter, this location actually gives you easy access to both without being stuck in the thick of either. I’d honestly stay here again – it’s one of those places where you can settle in and feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than just passing through.

  • Very good – Julie from Turkey – 28 June 2025 (8/10)

    The location
Very clean and cleaning ladies are sympathetic and helpful
There are a lot of cafe and restaurants around
    Close to a mall
    Close to transportation

What could be improved: No kettle in the room
    No mini fridge
    The breakfast is expensive
Impossibility to open the window properly

  • Superb – Irene from Canada – 17 June 2025 (9/10)

We were cycling and it was right on our route (EV15). The beds were comfortable. The metro was very close. The downtown and Petite France were within walking distance.

What could be improved: The only place for our bicycles was under the stairs. Not many people take the stairs so they were fine.
Funny story, we took a few minutes to figure out how to open the bathroom door.

  • Thoroughly enjoyed the stay! – Milana from Germany – 16 June 2025 (9/10)

I enjoyed my stay the OKKO Hotel. There was none of the smell people commented on, everything was clean and tidy.
I especially appreciated the bed linen and the blanket – none of your synthetic sweaty stuff, only natural materials for a good night sleep.
I can’t comment on the breakfast as I opted out of it, but the snack bar was great and the coffee was acceptable too.
The neighbourhood of the hotel is quite modern and lively with some really good food and wine places around. All in all I would stay here again.

What could be improved: The way the lights work in the room is a bit weird – it’s either almost all of them or none, which is inconvenient when you’re going to bed.

  • Very good – Jakub from Switzerland – 27 April 2025 (8/10)

Clean, calm and comfortable hotel for overnight stay. Facility has a lot potentials to spent nice time over there.

What could be improved: Average service and breakfast. We took breakfast to go and it was poor. It would be better not to take it and eat breakfast in the coffee shop that is in the same building.
