Novotel Strasbourg Centre Halles Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to the Novotel Strasbourg Centre Halles along Quai Kléber, you immediately get that “I’m in the right spot” feeling. This four-star hotel sits right where you want to be in Strasbourg — honestly, the location is pretty much perfect. The building has that modern European hotel vibe without being too flashy, and you can tell from the moment you arrive that this place knows what it’s doing. The contemporary design blends seamlessly with the historic surroundings, creating an inviting atmosphere that welcomes both business and leisure travelers.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about staying here — you’re literally in the heart of everything. The location score of 9.1 isn’t just some random number; when you step outside, you realize you can walk to the cathedral, the old town, and all those charming Alsatian streets without breaking a sweat. Couples especially seem to get this (they rate the location 8.9), and I mean, who doesn’t want to stroll along the canals after dinner? There’s parking available at the hotel too, which honestly saves you from the headache of finding a spot in the city center. The proximity to public transportation makes exploring the region even easier.
The Room Experience
The room itself hits that sweet spot between comfortable and functional. You know what I appreciate? The windows actually open properly, and the beds are genuinely comfortable — not just hotel-marketing comfortable. The bathrooms are well-designed, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. It’s not trying to be boutique-fancy, but everything works exactly as it should, which is sometimes more valuable than all the bells and whistles. Modern amenities are thoughtfully integrated throughout.
Breakfast & Dining
The buffet breakfast is actually worth getting up for, which isn’t something I say lightly. They’ve got the usual suspects — croissants, coffee, eggs — but also some local touches that remind you you’re in Alsace. The restaurant area has good natural light, and the staff keeps everything well-stocked even during busy morning rushes. I’ve seen hotel breakfasts that feel like an afterthought, but this one feels like they actually care about starting your day right. The dining experience reflects the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it balances being right in the center of things without the chaos that sometimes comes with prime locations. You’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters, but the hotel itself feels like a proper retreat when you need it. The 7.5 rating reflects what you actually get — solid, reliable, and well-positioned. It’s the kind of place where you spend your time exploring Strasbourg instead of dealing with hotel problems, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to soak up this beautiful city. Guests consistently praise the attentive service and attention to detail.

Room was lovely size – set up for the family of 4 upon arrival – have no complaints about the room or the service at all.
What could be improved: No complaints for the hotel but the surrounding area felt a bit dodgy at night and the car park (public) was very narrow…make sure you go in the right entrance for the hotel otherwise you have to lug your suitcases up the stairs (mistake we made – not the hotels fault)Very good – Mazen-ashoush from Egypt – 2 July 2024 (8/10)
