Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Novotel Strasbourg Centre Halles? It’s actually right where you want to be without feeling like you’re stuck in tourist central. The building sits on Quai Kléber – honestly, I had to look that up before my first visit, but it’s basically prime real estate along the water. You can walk to Petite France in about ten minutes, and the cathedral’s those classic cobblestone streets away, but you’re not dealing with the noise and chaos that comes with being right on top of everything.

The lobby has that sleek Novotel vibe – clean lines, lots of glass, the kind of modern design that photographs well but actually works in real life too. Check-in was smooth (I mean, it’s a chain, so they’ve got their systems down), and the staff switched between French and English without that slightly annoyed look you sometimes get. The rooms are… well, they’re Novotel rooms, which isn’t a bad thing. Think comfortable beds, decent-sized bathrooms, and windows that actually open – something you don’t always get in newer hotels. I stayed on the fifth floor last time and could see across to the old town, though honestly the view varies a lot depending on which direction you’re facing.

What I really appreciate is how the hotel sits in the neighborhood. There’s a Monoprix practically next door if you need basics, and you’re close enough to Place Kléber that you can grab morning coffee from one of those little cafés locals actually use. The rating sits at 7.5, which feels about right – it’s solid, reliable, does what it promises without trying to be something it’s not. Parking can be a bit of a pain (welcome to European city centers), but there’s a garage nearby, and honestly, once you’re here you won’t need your car much. The tram stops are close enough that getting to the European Parliament or the train station is straightforward. I wouldn’t call this place cutting-edge or boutique-charming, but sometimes you just want a good hotel that handles the basics well so you can focus on actually exploring Strasbourg. And that’s exactly what this is.

  • Good – Marina from Bulgaria – 15 December 2024 (7/10)

The breakfast is great. There were traditional holiday foods that added to the Christmas mood.
In addition to the beautiful decorations, the hotel also welcomes you with mulled wine and cookies.

What could be improved: The bed is uncomfortable, the ceilings are low. The room looked very gloomy.

  • Practical, clean at a reasonable price tag. – Alessandro from Germany – 6 October 2024 (9/10)

Perfect location near the old town and Adonis inside a big shopping mall.

  • Great location, great rooms and lovely staff – Helen from Switzerland – 5 August 2024 (8/10)

Room was lovely size – set up for the family of 4 upon arrival – have no complaints about the room or the service at all.

What could be improved: No complaints for the hotel but the surrounding area felt a bit dodgy at night and the car park (public) was very narrow…make sure you go in the right entrance for the hotel otherwise you have to lug your suitcases up the stairs (mistake we made – not the hotels fault)

  • Very good – Mazen-ashoush from Egypt – 2 July 2024 (8/10)

Hotel location is very good and 24hr check in service was helpful for our late check in.

What could be improved: Front desk employee was a bit rude during check in..
    Bathrooms are old a bit.

  • Good location, clean and value for money. – Oz from Australia – 16 May 2024 (9/10)

The room was spacious and clean. Part of a shopping coplex close to food and other shops. Easy walk into town and to the train station.

What could be improved: There was quite a lot of noise outside our window from people on the street below.

  • Convenient location, Novotel standards – Jorge from Poland – 6 May 2024 (8/10)

    Location. Novotel standards

What could be improved: Parking extra paid in underground parking belonging to shopping centre where hotel is located. No addreses regarding entry to the underground parking.
