The name – Nideck – which honestly made me curious enough to look it up, and turns out it’s named after these medieval castle ruins about 40 minutes south of Strasbourg. Kind of sets the tone for a place that feels more thoughtful than your typical city crash pad. Located on Rue du Nideck (obviously), you’re basically tucked into a quiet residential street that most tourists never stumble across, but here’s the thing – you’re still walking distance from everything that matters.

The studio itself is exactly what you’d want if you’re the type who actually uses hotel balconies instead of just admiring them through closed doors. I mean, it’s not huge – we’re talking studio apartment vibes – but that balcony makes the whole space feel twice as big, especially in the morning when you’re having coffee and watching Strasbourg wake up below. The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you spend a night here; it’s one of those places where everything just works without being fancy about it. The kitchen setup is actually functional (not just decorative like some places), which matters if you hit up the Saturday morning market at Place du Marché aux Poissons – that’s maybe a 12-minute walk, by the way, and totally worth it for the local cheese situation alone.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Rue du Nideck isn’t one of those streets where delivery trucks start rumbling at 6 AM, but you’re also not so far out that getting back from dinner in Petite France feels like an expedition. Speaking of which – and this is the kind of detail that matters when you’re actually staying somewhere – the tram line is close enough to be useful but far enough that you won’t hear it. It’s those little location quirks that make a 3-star place feel smarter than half the 4-star hotels cramming guests into busy intersections. The whole setup just feels like someone who actually lives in Strasbourg decided to share their space, rather than some corporate hospitality formula. Honestly, that’s probably why it works so well.

  Very cosy place. Small but has everything you need: small kitchen with all pans, kettle, washing machine.

  Balcony was dirty and not clean and the view of the balcony has nothing to do with the photos. It was an inside view apartment on the first floor. Keys were to be collected and left somewhere else (8’ walk). Check in at 4pm. For a 1-2 night it’s alright I guess..

  Bonjour. L’emplacement du logement était idéal et tout est fort pratique. Tout est facilement accessible, que ce soit les transports, les boutiques et le centre historique !!!
