Hotel Description
So I stumbled across this little gem on Rue de Gerstheim, and honestly? It’s one of those places that surprises you in the best way. The name’s a mouthful – Nid Cosy et Sauna Privé & Proche Centre Strasbourg & Kehl – but it pretty much tells you everything you need to know. It’s cozy (they weren’t kidding about the “nid cosy” part), you get your own private sauna, and you’re perfectly positioned between Strasbourg’s historic center and the German border town of Kehl.
What really got me was how they’ve managed to create this intimate, almost home-like atmosphere while still giving you that hotel experience. The private sauna thing isn’t just a gimmick – I mean, after spending hours wandering around Petite France or hiking through the Vosges, there’s something magical about having your own little spa retreat to come back to. The rooms have this warm, lived-in feeling without being cluttered, you know? And the location on Rue de Gerstheim is actually perfect if you want to avoid the tourist crowds but still be close enough to walk to the cathedral in about fifteen minutes. Plus, if you’re planning any day trips to Germany, Kehl is literally right there – super handy for those cross-border adventures or even just popping over for some German pastries.
The 8.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there. It’s not trying to be some fancy five-star palace, but what it does, it does really well. The owners clearly care about the details – good water pressure, comfortable beds, and that sauna is maintained beautifully. I stayed during a particularly chilly October, and having that private sauna felt like pure luxury after trudging through the Rhine valley mist. The neighborhood’s pretty quiet too, mostly residential with some local cafés nearby where you’ll hear more French and German than English, which I love. There’s decent street parking if you’re driving, though honestly, Strasbourg’s tram system is so good you might not need a car once you’re settled in. The only minor thing is that it can get a bit warm in summer – those cozy spaces that feel perfect in winter might feel a touch snug when it’s 30°C outside, but then again, that’s what the sauna’s for, right? Well, maybe not in July, but you get the idea.

Cute place!☺️ – Crivceac from Romania – 25 May 2025 (10/10)
Everything was great. Cute place. Everything we needed.
What could be improved: It didn't have a trash bin in the bathroom.Exceptional – Lea from Germany – 24 June 2025 (10/10)
Exceptional – Mostafa from Netherlands – 22 April 2025 (10/10)
