Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about My HOME? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – it’s tucked into this narrow cobblestone street that feels more like a residential neighborhood than hotel territory. Rue des Juifs is one of those winding medieval streets in Strasbourg’s old quarter where you’ll hear more French conversations echoing off the half-timbered buildings than tourist chatter, at least until you get closer to the cathedral area.
I mean, the location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. You’re maybe a seven-minute walk from Place Kléber (the main square where all the trams converge), but far enough away that you won’t hear street performers until 2 AM. The building itself has that restored historic charm – thick walls that actually keep noise out, which is rare in these old European hotels. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that overly formal front desk theater you get at some four-star places. The staff seemed genuinely local, not imported hospitality school graduates, and they knew things like which boulangerie opens earliest (it’s the one on Rue du Vieux-Marché-aux-Poissons, by the way) and when the Saturday market gets too crowded to navigate.
What really sets this place apart – and I think this explains that 9.1 rating – is how they’ve managed to blend comfort with character without making it feel like a museum. The rooms have proper blackout curtains (essential if you’re not used to those long European summer evenings), and the beds are actually comfortable, not just styled to look good in photos. Little details matter here: decent water pressure, outlets where you need them, and air conditioning that works without sounding like a freight train. I honestly wasn’t expecting much from the breakfast since smaller hotels often phone it in, but they do this really nice spread with local pastries and proper coffee. Nothing fancy, just well-executed basics.
The neighborhood comes alive differently throughout the day – quiet and residential in the mornings, then you’ll start hearing more activity as people head to work or explore the Petite France area nearby. Evenings are lovely actually, especially in warmer months when locals sit outside the wine bars along the canal. Parking can be tricky (this is medieval Europe, after all), but there’s a public garage about three blocks away that won’t bankrupt you. If you’re coming during Christmas market season, well, book way ahead because this whole area turns into a wonderland, but also expect crowds and higher prices for everything. The rest of the year though? It’s this perfect base for actually experiencing Strasbourg rather than just checking off tourist sites. You’ll find yourself taking different routes back to the hotel just to explore another narrow street or stumble across another tiny square you missed before.

Beautiful apartment in a great location – Gina from Canada – 28 May 2025 (9/10)
This was a beautiful place to stay for our group of four friends for three nights in Strasbourg. The location is perfect, the amenities were great, it was spacious and had everything we needed in the kitchen. The host was lovely and very helpful.
What could be improved: Minor issues, nothing serious. One of the showers didn’t drain well, and some of the beds weren’t super comfortable (two were sofa beds). This wasn’t a big deal though, we would still recommend staying here.Comfortable stay in large, old apartment in a great location. I would recommend this place. – Jennifer from United Kingdom – 13 August 2024 (9/10)
Lots of space. Good shower and kitchen, comfortable beds. On a lovely street with shops, bakeries and bars but not crowded or noisy. We all slept well. We explored the city on foot easily from the apartment.
Exceptional – George from United States – 8 July 2024 (10/10)

zentral, Abstellen der Fahrräder, flexibel in der Ankunftszeit
What could be improved: Bad nicht so funktional, eher DesignSuper séjour dans un appartement idéalement placé ! – Dominique from France – 9 January 2025 (9/10)
Exceptional – Ekaterina from Switzerland – 5 August 2024 (10/10)
Sehr empfehlenswert! Vielen herzlichen Dank!!
Gut ausgestattete, geräumige Wohnung in zentraler Lage – M from Germany – 22 July 2024 (9/10)
Der TV stürzte mehrmals ab (Internet).Exceptional – Marilyne from Reunion – 18 July 2024 (10/10)
Good – Laurette from France – 7 December 2024 (7/10)
Emplacement idéal,
Très bel appartement.
Salles d’eau et cuisine refait à neuf.
Hôte très accueillante et à l’écoute.
What could be improved: Couettes des petits lits sur les grands lits
