Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Strasbourg, and MIDPOINT STUDİOS honestly caught me off guard in the best way. You know that stretch along Quai des Pêcheurs where it gets quieter past all the touristy riverside restaurants? That’s where you’ll find this place, and I mean, the location alone is worth talking about. You’re literally steps from the water, but far enough from the Petite France crowds that you can actually hear yourself think.

The whole “Life Renaissance” thing sounds a bit pretentious on paper, but when you walk in, it actually makes sense. The studios have this clean, minimalist vibe that doesn’t feel sterile – more like someone with really good taste designed their own apartment and decided to share it. My room had these huge windows that looked out over the canal, and honestly, watching the early morning joggers and dog walkers became part of my daily routine. The kitchenette was actually functional too (you know how hotel kitchens usually have like, one sad spoon and a broken coffee maker?). This one had proper utensils and appliances that worked. I ended up grabbing fresh bread from the boulangerie around the corner most mornings – there’s something about eating pain au chocolat while watching boats drift by that just hits different.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to detail without being fussy about it. The Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the building, the shower had proper water pressure, and – this is huge if you’re traveling with luggage – there’s an elevator. Parking can be a bit tricky in this part of town, but there’s a public garage about a five-minute walk away that won’t completely destroy your budget. The staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood too, not just the obvious tourist spots. When I mentioned I was craving good Alsatian food that wasn’t totally touristy, they pointed me toward this amazing winstub tucked away near Place du Marché-aux-Poissons that I never would have found otherwise. Check-in was smooth, none of that awkward waiting around while they “prepare your room” even though it’s past the official time. The 8.4 rating feels about right – it’s not going to change your life, but it’s solidly above what you’d expect for the price point. If you want to feel like you’re actually living in Strasbourg for a few days instead of just passing through, this is your spot.

  What could be improved: We didn’t have a river view and our ‘garden view’ was a view of the entire complex’s recycling bins and cars. When residents deposited their recycling they looked straight at us and greeted us inside the apartment. The apartment was not as described as there is not a separate bedroom and there is no clothes drying rack. When we messaged the owner about this there was no response.
