Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first walked up to 13 Rue de la Mésange, I almost missed it entirely. The entrance is tucked between these gorgeous old Alsatian buildings, and honestly, that’s part of its charm. You’re literally in the heart of Strasbourg’s old town, like a two-minute walk from Place Kléber where all the action happens, but somehow you’ve found this quiet little pocket that feels removed from the tourist chaos.

The studio itself is exactly what you’d expect from a well-maintained 3-star place – nothing fancy, but everything works. What I loved most was the attention to practical details that you only notice when someone’s actually thought about how people live in a space. The kitchenette is small but functional (I mean, you’re not cooking Thanksgiving dinner here, but you can definitely handle breakfast and simple meals), and there’s this nice big window that lets in plenty of light during the day. The bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept past my alarm, which… well, that never happens when I travel. One thing though – if you’re a super light sleeper, just know that you’re in the city center, so there’s some street noise, especially on weekend nights when people are heading to the bars around Petite France. But honestly, I found it kind of charming after the first night – very “living like a local” vibes.

What really sold me on this place was the location intelligence, you know? You’re close enough to walk to the cathedral in about five minutes, but you’re also positioned perfectly for those early morning runs along the Ill River if that’s your thing. And here’s something the typical hotel descriptions won’t tell you – there’s this fantastic little bakery called Pâtisserie Christian just around the corner on Rue des Grandes Arcades that opens at 7 AM and has the best pain au chocolat I’ve had outside of Paris. The whole area comes alive differently depending on the time of day too. Mornings are quiet and lovely, afternoons get bustling with shoppers and tourists, and evenings have this wonderful energy as locals head out for dinner and drinks. Parking is… well, it’s city center parking, so plan accordingly. I ended up using the Broglie parking garage about a seven-minute walk away, which wasn’t terrible but definitely factor that into your budget. The 8.2 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury experience, but it delivers exactly what it promises with some genuine local character thrown in. If you want to feel like you’re actually staying in Strasbourg rather than just visiting it, this little studio hits that sweet spot.

Reviews

  • Very good – Polina from Russia – 19 July 2025 (8/10)

    Location, commodities

What could be improved: Check in process was stressful

  • Great place to stay. Now that I know the secrets of the key pickup, I would definitely stay here again. – Vincent from United States – 11 December 2024 (8/10)

Beautiful apartment in a great location.

What could be improved: Having to get the key at a different location was inconvenient, but not a deal-breaker. The biggest issue was the risk of head injury due to the low ceiling areas, especially entering the kitchen.

  • Gorgeous apartment, annoying management – Nadia from Bulgaria – 11 October 2024 (8/10)

The flat is great – very comfortable, beautiful and very nice organised space with everything you need for a short stay. The location is great – in the heart of the town, but very quiet.

What could be improved: You have to be prepared for a quest for the key – you get a very detailed description ( go to the street X, there is a hotel. It closes at 21. Left from the receptor there is a blue door, etc.) and if you follow it, you find the key, which is a physical key and if you are two, you have to know, there is only one key. On the day before check out you get a mail with a to-do list: wash the dishes, put them away etc. No problem at all, but then comes the garbage. “Collect the garbage and throw it away, throw the glasses in one of the glass collection containers in the town”. You get you suitcase, the garbage bag and a bag with the glass, you hope it will not rain and you walk through the streets looking for containers. Honestly, I couldn’t find a glass container. An instruction where it might be, would be helpful. And then you return the key to the point you picked it up, which is quite far from the apartment. For me it was annoying. But if you are not bothered by this, the apartment is one of the best yo can have in Strasbourg.

  • Superb – Nancy from New Zealand – 19 September 2024 (9/10)

Very clean and central to everything we wanted to see
Honore was very communicative and answered questions we had
    We would stay again!

What could be improved: Everything was excellent

  • Great choice in the city center – Luen from Taiwan – 25 August 2024 (9/10)

Self-help check-in and very well equipped flat in the great location.

What could be improved: The penthouse room was quite warm in the summer time. Be sure to click the link from the message and read it through before arriving the room, otherwise you would have to go back to retrieve the key if it’s still in time.

  • Excellent stay for a week, clean, quiet and well set up. – Monica from Canada – 11 June 2024 (8/10)

This was a great little apartment in a great location, very clean and quiet. The tram was out the front door and the centre square was a block away. The apartment was set ups with everything a person needs – dishes, cutlery and cookware, towels, etc.

What could be improved: There was a problem with the Wifi for the first two days. Management did their best to make it work, and I finally figured out the wifi was connected to the switch by the door.

  • Very good – Rosana from Brazil – 16 April 2024 (8/10)

    The location

What could be improved: The internet and tv access.

  • Lovely little apartment in excellent location – Fiona from United Kingdom – 2 July 2025 (7/10)

The apartment was very clean and well equipped with everything you need.
Good mattress. Location is excellent within short walking distance of main sites. Even though it is very central on main street, because it faces to the rear it is very quiet and peaceful.
The host is very responsive and helpful.
I stayed during heatwave and because it is on 5th floor in attic it was extremely hot with only a small fan but they brought another fan straight away.

What could be improved: Would be good to have better and more pillows.
I would have liked more fresh towels provided since my stay was 6 days.

  • Correct, clean place minor inconveniences like flickering light or light ventilation background. – Resta from France – 3 June 2025 (8/10)

    Location, sunlight, cozyness

What could be improved: Absence human contact with owner/host.

  • Exceptional – Utku from Turkey – 5 September 2024 (10/10)

    Central, cosy and clean place.

What could be improved: Windows are too high. Can’t see outside.
