Médicis Home Strasbourg Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Médicis Home Strasbourg feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the heart of Strasbourg. This four-star boutique property sits quietly on rue Alice Guy, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — you’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked away from the tourist chaos. The building itself has that understated French elegance that doesn’t try too hard, which I actually appreciate more than flashy lobbies.
The Perfect Strasbourg Base
What really struck me about this place is how couples seem to gravitate here — and after spending time in the area, I totally get why they rate the location so highly. You’re within easy walking distance of Petite France (those Instagram-worthy half-timbered houses), and the cathedral is just a pleasant stroll away. The tram stops are close by too, which means you can explore beyond the historic center without dealing with parking headaches in the old town. I mean, anyone who’s tried to navigate Strasbourg’s medieval streets by car knows what a relief that is.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this modern-meets-classic vibe that actually works — clean lines but with enough character to remind you you’re in France, not some generic hotel chain. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathrooms are well-designed with decent water pressure. You know what I appreciated most? The attention to soundproofing — despite being in the city center, I could barely hear street noise, which made for surprisingly good sleep.
Morning Fuel
The continental breakfast here is solid without being revolutionary — fresh pastries, good coffee, and the usual suspects you’d expect from a French hotel. What sets it apart is the quality of the ingredients and the fact that they don’t rush you through it. I found myself lingering over coffee longer than planned, which honestly felt like the right pace for Strasbourg mornings. The breakfast room has nice natural light, and the staff seems genuinely happy to help with local recommendations.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about Médicis Home that keeps drawing people back. The staff strikes that perfect balance between professional and friendly — they’ll give you excellent restaurant suggestions without making you feel like you’re bothering them. The whole place feels more like a sophisticated guesthouse than a corporate hotel, which explains why couples rate it so highly for romantic getaways. You’re paying for location, comfort, and that intangible feeling of being well taken care of without any fuss. For exploring Strasbourg’s mix of French and German culture, you really couldn’t ask for a better home base. The apartment-style layout of some suites offers flexibility for longer stays, and the well-equipped kitchenette in select rooms adds practical value for guests seeking extended comfort.

Reviews of Médicis Home Strasbourg
Good apartment in a great location. – Bart from United States – 12 July 2025 (7/10)
Great location, secure location. Spacious unit with air conditioning and sliding glass doors with a balcony. Kitchen had the basics.
What could be improved: Not a negative, but we were somewhat surprised that the rental is in a senior living residence. The residents and staff were great and very friendly to be around.Good location, very uncomfortable bed – Robert from Bosnia and Herzegovina – 22 June 2025 (7/10)
Location of the hotel is great, just in front of the tram station. It is very clean and the staff is polite and welcoming.
What could be improved: Bed is very, very small. We could not have a proper rest and were waking up every morning tired. Bed is definitely for one person. There are no any amanities at all, no shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush holder, nothing.Superb – Kamal from India – 26 April 2025 (9/10)
Neat and clean apartment, very close to tram stop and other shops. All tourist attractions are just 10-15 mins by tram.
Staff is very helpful and tries to accommodate every request possible.
What could be improved: To enter the apartment building you always need to depend on staff to open the door, you cannot enter on your own. Although we did not have any issues while entering, I think they should try to make the entry independent for guests.
Also, some basic kitchen essentials would be handy like salt, pepper, oil, rice cooker, non stick pans etc.
These are just suggestions to improve nothing was a deal breaker for us.Three nights in a quiet place – Natalija from Belgium – 17 February 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was very big for me alone – a sitting room/kitchen with a separate bedroom and ensuite WC/shower. Very clean. The bed was comfy and the sleep quality very good – quiet inside and outside. The accommodation is actually part of a seniors' residence – same entrance (just in case you are not sure where to go). The staff was very welcoming. It is not very close to the centre of the city, but trams are running just next to the building and it takes around 15 minutes to get to the central station.
Exceptional – Akash from India – 9 January 2025 (10/10)
Great location, just 2 minute walk from the tram station. The staff were very friendly. There are a lot of good eateries in walking distance. I'll stay here again when I visit Strasbourg in future.
I was happy – Mary from France – 7 January 2025 (10/10)
Mostly everything
What could be improved: NoneA stay close to the old town. – Tatiana from France – 26 December 2024 (8/10)
The hotel is located close to the old town, it’s 25 min walk or several stops by tram which is near the hotel. The room is really big, clean with a kitchen, sitting area and even a small balcony. The staff nice and helpful. It’s a nice and quiet location, but you will find some restaurants, supermarkets and a big shopping center right next to the hotel. I walked to the railway station in 45 min. The tram stop is next to the hotel in case you have big suitcases.
What could be improved: To open the entrance door you need to ring a bell. Couple of times I was ringing and there was no one on the reception to open the door. Finally a passing by guest of the hotel helped me. And what if someone returns very late? I asked for a badge to be able to open the door independently but the reception refused. It was really inconvenient and uncomfortable.Very much recommended!!!!! – Tatiana from Moldova – 15 December 2024 (10/10)
Very good location, close to the Gare Central, 10 min taxi. Very friendly staff, very helpful. Very large studio, with everything necessary, no disturbing sounds. I had to take the bus to Frankfurt at 4 a.m. the Station closes during the night, but the staff allowed to stay in the salon to wait until 3 a.m. offered a cup of tea. Wonderful people! Will come again for this accommodation!

Perfect place to stay – Margaryta from Germany – 3 November 2024 (10/10)
Great place to stay. Very nice and tidy apartment. It has everything you need and the location is perfect. Nice view, there are lots of restaurants and stores nearby. It is not far from the center. It was a short family trip and we really enjoyed it.
