Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name makes it sound like someone’s quirky rental house, but honestly, it’s way more polished than I expected. Maison rénovée sits on Avenue de la Forêt-Noire – which, if you’re not familiar with Strasbourg, puts you in this lovely residential pocket that feels authentically French without being touristy. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to Petite France (maybe 15 minutes if you don’t get distracted by the canal views), but you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups that can make the city center feel a bit much sometimes.
The renovation work here is actually impressive – they’ve managed to keep those classic Alsatian architectural details while making everything feel fresh and modern. The air conditioning was a godsend when I visited in July, because let’s be real, those beautiful old European buildings can turn into ovens during summer. But here’s what really won me over: the sauna. I wasn’t expecting much, figured it might be one of those cramped afterthoughts, but it’s genuinely relaxing after spending the day wandering around the cobblestones in Strasbourg’s old town. Your feet will thank you. The baby-foot table (that’s foosball for anyone wondering) sits in this common area that somehow manages to feel both social and cozy – I ended up chatting with other guests there, which doesn’t always happen at hotels.
Parking was surprisingly straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven in Strasbourg will appreciate. The staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood – when I asked about good spots for dinner that weren’t overrun with tourists, they pointed me toward a couple places on nearby streets that turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. The 8.8 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be some grand luxury experience, but everything just works well. The rooms are comfortable, the common spaces invite you to linger a bit, and honestly, the whole vibe feels more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place than a typical hotel. If you’re the type who likes being in a real neighborhood rather than a hotel district, and you appreciate those little touches like having a sauna to unwind in, this spot delivers without any pretense about it.

Très jolie pour vos soirée entre amies ou en famille – Merve from France – 5 May 2025 (8/10)
La beauté de l’appartement, l’emplacement, et le nombre de personnes pouvant y séjourner.
La grandeur. Et la beauté du lieux est vraiment exceptionnelle on n’a pas l’impression d’être à Strasbourg.
What could be improved: Il manqué une serpillière, très embêtant.
– Lehoux from France – 20 April 2025 (8/10)
Superb – Indah from Indonesia – 5 April 2025 (9/10)
Exceptional – Diana from Spain – 14 December 2024 (10/10)
