Honestly, when I first heard the name “Love Room,” I wasn’t sure what to expect – but this 4-star spot on Rue de l’Épine turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to keep it secret from the crowds. You know what I mean? It’s tucked away in this quiet corner of Strasbourg that feels authentically local, about a 10-minute walk from the cathedral but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually hear yourself think.

The thing that struck me right away was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting the details right. Check-in was smooth (they actually remembered I’d mentioned arriving late in my email), and the room – well, it’s clear someone put thought into making it feel like more than just another hotel box. The beds are properly comfortable, not that firm-as-concrete European style you sometimes get, and there’s this subtle attention to lighting that makes everything feel warmer in the evenings. I mean, the name makes sense once you’re there – it’s designed for romance without being cheesy about it. The bathrooms are spacious too, which honestly matters more than people admit when you’re sharing space.

What really won me over was the location, though. Rue de l’Épine isn’t one of those streets tourists stumble onto, but it’s perfectly positioned if you know Strasbourg at all. You’re a short walk from Petite France (the picturesque bit everyone photographs), but you’re also near some genuinely good local restaurants that don’t jack up prices for visitors. There’s a fantastic little bakery two streets over that opens early – perfect for grabbing real croissants before the hotel breakfast crowd descends. And parking? Actually manageable, which anyone who’s driven in Strasbourg will tell you is basically a miracle. The 8.5 rating seems about right; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works the way it should, and there’s something to be said for that consistency. The rooms stay quiet even when the trams run nearby, and the whole place has this lived-in elegance that feels comfortable rather than intimidating. If you’re looking for somewhere that captures Strasbourg’s romantic side without the tourist markup, this is your spot.

  I really wish there were more places like these, honestly. It's an amazing place with a great passion to detail, located really central. The check-in was great, all via a door code, uncomplicated. We were in Strasbourg for a concert and only arrived at 11pm. So a late check-in wasn't a problem at all. The jacuzzi worked perfectly, even late at night still. Also, the water vapour fireplace were easy to use. A highlight for me was definitely the sound system to play music accross the whole room. And unlike some other dungeons without windows, the ventilation worked perfect. I haven't had the feeling that there wasn't enough air. Really happy about the experience, and it was overall very modern.
  
  What could be improved: I would have wished to receive some details days before our arrival so I could have planned it better, but it's okay. In the end all worked as expected.

  C'était une première pour moi, et je ne suis pas déçue, bien au contraire. Jacuzzi bien au delà de mes attentes.
