You know what struck me first about Les Plumes? The name actually makes sense once you’re inside – there’s this subtle feathered motif throughout that feels thoughtful rather than gimmicky. It’s tucked on Rue de la Toussaint, which honestly took me a minute to find the first time (the street numbers aren’t super obvious), but that’s part of its charm in a way. You’re right in the heart of Strasbourg’s old town, maybe a three-minute walk to the cathedral if you’re moving at tourist pace. I mean, you can literally hear the bells from some of the rooms, which is either magical or annoying depending on how you feel about being woken up at 7 AM – personally, I loved it.

The building itself has that classic Alsatian half-timbered look from the outside, but inside it’s been updated in a way that doesn’t feel like they’re trying too hard to be trendy. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star – not huge, but cleverly designed so you’re not bumping into furniture every time you open your suitcase. The bathrooms are actually pretty decent sized, which surprised me given how old these buildings are. What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing; Rue de la Toussaint gets some foot traffic during the day since it connects to the main tourist areas, but once you close the windows, it’s genuinely quiet. The Wi-Fi works well throughout the building too – I was able to video call from the top floor without issues, which isn’t always a given in these historic conversions.

Staff-wise, they’re the kind of helpful where they’ll give you actual local recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the obvious tourist traps. The woman at reception (I think her name was Marie?) told me about this little wine bar on Rue des Tonneliers that I never would have found otherwise. Check-in was smooth, and they let me store my bags early since I arrived before 3 PM, which saved me from wandering around with luggage while exploring the Petite France area. Look, it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury amenities – there’s no spa or fancy restaurant – but for the location and the price point, it delivers exactly what it promises. The 8.6 rating feels about right; it’s the kind of place where everything just works without any major surprises, good or bad. If you’re planning to actually explore Strasbourg rather than hang out in your hotel room, and you want to be walking distance from both the cathedral and the EU quarter, Les Plumes hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  Logement propre, bien situé à 15mn à pieds de la gare et proche des lieux touristiques. Rue calme proche des transports en commun.

  What could be improved: Ce sont des détails : quelques tasses supplémentaires seraient appréciables. La table est un peu bancale. Le matelas du clic-clac est moyen.

  What could be improved: Edificio antiguo sin ascensor. Cubos de basura dentro del edificio que produce algo de mal olor.
  Calefacción controlada de forma remota a 19-20 grados según nos dijo el propietario; un poco frío para nuestro gusto.
  Ducha se inunda; se debe abrir poco el agua.
  No hay persianas y las cortinas no tapan la luz.
