Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name “Logement entier au coeur de Strasbourg,” I thought it was just another generic Airbnb trying to sound fancy. But this little apartment on Rue Kageneck actually lives up to that whole “heart of Strasbourg” thing, and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Place Kléber, which is perfect because you can grab your morning coffee and croissant without dealing with tourist traps, but you’re also tucked away enough that you won’t hear drunk college kids stumbling home at 2 AM (well, not every night anyway). The street itself is one of those classic Strasbourg roads – narrow, cobblestoned, lined with those beautiful Alsatian buildings that make you feel like you’re living in a fairy tale, even when you’re just trying to figure out the coffee machine.

What really surprised me was how spacious it felt for a 3-star place. I mean, European apartments can be pretty cramped, but whoever set this up actually knows how to use space efficiently. The kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook – and honestly, you should, because the Marché des Bateliers is just around the corner and the produce there is incredible. Plus, after a few days of tarte flambée and choucroute (which, don’t get me wrong, are amazing), sometimes you just want to make a simple pasta dinner, you know? The Wi-Fi actually works properly, which feels like a minor miracle in old Strasbourg buildings, and the shower has decent water pressure – again, not something you can take for granted in these historic neighborhoods.

The 7.9 rating makes total sense to me because it’s one of those places that does the basics really well without trying to be something it’s not. You’re not getting a concierge or room service, but you are getting a genuine feel for what it’s like to actually live in Strasbourg rather than just pass through it. The tram stop at Homme de Fer is close enough that you can easily get to the European Parliament if that’s your thing, or hop over to Petite France without your feet hating you by the end of the day. I actually ended up staying an extra night because I got so comfortable – there’s something about having your own key, your own little routine of stopping at the boulangerie downstairs, that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary local. Just heads up though, parking can be a bit of a nightmare around there (it’s the city center, what do you expect?), so if you’re driving, budget some extra time to find a spot or look into the parking garages nearby.

Reviews

  • Good for the money. Location and free parking was key – Piotr from Poland – 9 July 2024 (8/10)

Very clean and good location and free parking.

What could be improved: The fact that there were no doors to the bathroom – this resulted it everyone avoiding using the toilet as much as they could because you could hear everything.
The damn wooden log between kitchen and living room. It’s so annoying xD and the fact that there was nothing to sit on comfortably when there were 4 people since they were sleeping on the sofa.

The fact that it was on 4th floor and there were only stairs.

  • Superb – Christian from Philippines – 29 December 2023 (9/10)

Complete appliances, cozy feel, and warm in the winter.

What could be improved: There was no elevator in the building

  • Central location. Could be a bit better.but ok – Maria from Switzerland – 29 July 2024 (8/10)

Really super location 😀 7 min walk from main train station and 5 min walk from the Historical center. Really quiet room. Equipped with all that you need. Comfy beds,TV, air cooling system (not condition, but it works perfect).
Easy check in and check out. Coffee machine.

What could be improved: If you have really big suitcases please remember you need to get on the last (4th floor) by wooden stairs. No lift. And also don't forget to get up and down really quiet not to annoy neighbours)).
When we arrived there was no soap (only Head and Shoulders shampoo bottle and empty bottle for liquid soap. Somehow the toilet sitting was not holding good (and honestly it's made of really thin plastic), so using with 100%careful.
The table for breakfast is really small. Only for two persons max with one cup of tea/coffee and some small croissants))) .
Topper for sofa a bit bigger that sofa, so you probably can roll down while sleeping (tips for families).
For me also was also point not to forget not to rise too high hands on bathroom because lamp hanged a bit low.
Knifes in kitchen awful. You couldn't cut with them anything. So sad(((.

  • Very good – Roman from Armenia – 19 June 2024 (8/10)

Very good location! Nice and clean apartment equipped with all necessary appliances.

What could be improved: The absence of an elevator.

  • Good stay in a whole with some nuances – Dvorkina from Belarus – 15 April 2023 (9/10)

Easy check-in and check-out, located 5 minutes from the train station and close to la petite France

What could be improved: the coffee machine and the washdisher were dirty and even with mold, the sockets in apartment were in bad condition and one of them even blocked the bathroom door when you want to open it

  • very good stay in strasbourg – Matteo from Belgium – 4 March 2024 (8/10)

Cheap for what you get! and very close to the station

  • Exceptional – Iva from Croatia – 8 December 2024 (10/10)

Sweet apartment in good location near train station and city center. Parking in garage near the apartment. Theo was excellent host.

    What could be improved: –

  • Fantastic! Perfect apartment. – Johansson from Sweden – 16 July 2024 (10/10)

Close to town, very clean, amazing temperature despite no AC, big kitchen and a separate bedroom, fancy bathroom, pretty apartment. Owner answers very fast. 10/10, would absolutely live here again!

What could be improved: Washing machine started malfunctioning, making lound noises and smelled a bit burnt.

  • Great stay in an accessible location – Calin from Romania – 12 August 2023 (10/10)

The property was flawlessly clean, equipped with everything you might need for cooking. Great location near the railway station, close to Petite France and easily walkable to the city center. The linen and bed sheets were clean and the big sofa easily accommodated 2 people. Theo went far beyond our expectations and helped us with checking in after midnight due to our train having been delayed. Definitely recommended!

What could be improved: It would have been nice to have a bigger dining table with some chairs, an iron and a pan lid. Nothing other than that.

  • Exceptional – Rine from Australia – 7 July 2023 (10/10)

The property is great. Had everything we needed. The locks are a little hard to open but that is the only criticism. Couch was comfy and bathroom was top. Very close to petite and would recommend to anyone that doesn’t require a wheelchair.
