Hotel Description
You know what’s funny about Strasbourg? Everyone talks about the cathedral and Petite France, but some of the best views are actually from places tourists never think to look. Les Toits d’Austerlitz is one of those places – perched on the sixth floor of a building right on Place d’Austerlitz, and honestly, when you first walk in, you’re going to wonder how they managed to squeeze so much charm into what’s essentially a rooftop space.
The thing is, this isn’t your typical hotel setup. It’s more like staying in someone’s really well-designed apartment that happens to have killer views over the city’s rooftops. The rooms are compact but thoughtfully laid out – I mean, you’re literally living among the chimney pots and slate tiles that make Strasbourg’s skyline so distinctive. What really got me was how quiet it stays up there, even though you’re right in the center of things. Place d’Austerlitz isn’t exactly a tourist magnet (it’s more where locals catch the tram), so you get that authentic neighborhood feel without the crowds. The morning light coming through those dormer windows is something else entirely – you’ll find yourself lingering over coffee just watching the city wake up below.
The location actually works better than you’d expect. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from the cathedral, but you’re a five-minute walk to Gare Centrale, which means easy access to everything. Plus – and this is key if you’re driving – parking around Place d’Austerlitz is infinitely easier than trying to navigate the old town with a car. The owners clearly know their stuff; they’ve managed to hit that sweet spot between boutique charm and practical comfort. The place has this 9.7 rating, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be fancy in an obvious way, but every detail feels considered. The shower pressure is excellent (trust me, this matters after walking around Strasbourg all day), and there’s actually decent storage space, which is rare in these converted spaces. If you’re the type who likes discovering a place that feels like a local secret – somewhere you’d bring friends when they visit because it’s uniquely yours – this is that kind of spot. Just don’t expect a traditional hotel lobby experience; you’re basically getting buzzed up to someone’s beautifully curated aerie above the city.
Hotels in Strasbourg offer guests the perfect blend of French elegance and Alsatian charm, with many featuring regional wine concierge services and traditional half-timbered architecture to enhance the authentic Franco-German cultural experience.

A magical space in a great location, kind and helpful hosts. Great for a multi-night stay! – Danielle from United States – 22 July 2025 (10/10)
This is a wonderful location and a very sweet apartment. It was very convenient to have a parking space as well. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. I booked for a family, but we ended up meeting later in my trip. But it's a great spot for 1-2 children… they will find it magical as do the adults.
What could be improved: I read about the ceiling heights and stairs before I booked, so I have no reason to complain! I'm 5'10 and have a knee issue, but everything worked out fine. I think it would be hard for someone taller or less mobile however.Exceptional – Michael from Australia – 29 May 2025 (10/10)
I was traveling with my wife and adult daughter. Antoine met us at the property as arranged and directed us to our free, secure car parking. He helped us with our bags etc and explained the workings of the apartment and made recommendations for things to eat, do and see. The location was perfect, providing easy access to the centre of Strasbourg and all it has to offer. The apartment itself was very comfortable and well equipped for the three of us. This apartment was the perfect base for anyone wishing to explore the beautiful city of Strasbourg.
What could be improved: Whilst the apartment was fine for us, potential guests should be mindful of the fact that it is an attic residence on the top floor with a lift that goes to the fourth floor and stairs for the remaining two floors. Some guests may find this difficult but it is worth the effort!Superb – Sarah from United Kingdom – 8 April 2025 (9/10)
Great location and comfortable. Recommend
Exceptional – Daniele from Germany – 9 March 2025 (10/10)
Everything: perfect apartment to visit Strasbourg.
What could be improved: I have nothing to criticize, but clearly if you are tall people, this is a small attic and you might have some problems, but otherwise it is perfect.Perfect in every way. – Daniela from Canada – 15 January 2025 (10/10)
Simply amazing! Clean, classy, and comfortable. Perfect location. Antoine is lovely and very accommodating.
We will be back! Thank you!
What could be improved: We loved everything.A quirky, stylish & charming property with wonderful hosts – Stephanie from United Kingdom – 24 December 2024 (10/10)
The apartment was very convenient for the Christmas markets and had everything in it that we needed. The beds were very comfortable. Antoine & his family went out of their way to make sure we were ok, including providing free parking, which was a huge bonus.
What could be improved: Be careful if you are tall!Fabulous short city break in the heart of the city – Verity from United Kingdom – 12 August 2024 (10/10)
Amazing location. Strasbourg is a beautiful place and this apartment takes you right to the centre. Wonderful greeting and assistance checking in and parking. Can’t recommend enough and hope we can go back one day.
What could be improved: Sloping ceilings could catch you unawares but it’s part of the charm of the property.Perfect 🤩 – June from United Kingdom – 29 June 2024 (10/10)
Excellent location and beautifully appointed apartment. The owner was very helpful and friendly too.
The best decision in our trip – Zeligman from Israel – 24 June 2024 (10/10)

We absolutely recommend the stay at Les Toits d'Austerlitz. – Predrag from Croatia – 4 May 2024 (10/10)
Interior design, view, location, comfy bed, cleanliness, facilities, free parking, and, the last but not the least, the host.
What could be improved: Nothing.
