Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Les Lodges des Forges on Rue des Forgerons – I mean, it’s tucked away in this quiet residential pocket of Strasbourg that most tourists never stumble across. But you know what? That’s exactly what makes this place special. It’s like staying in someone’s really well-appointed home rather than another cookie-cutter hotel, and the 9.5 rating actually makes sense once you’re there.
The building itself has this understated charm that feels authentically Alsatian without trying too hard – none of that over-the-top half-timbered tourist trap vibe you get closer to the cathedral area. What really got me was how quiet it is at night, which is saying something since I’m usually a light sleeper. The rooms have this cozy, almost cabin-like feel with warm wood touches and windows that actually open (revolutionary concept, right?). The beds are genuinely comfortable too – not just decent hotel comfortable, but the kind where you actually sleep in on vacation. I mean, the whole setup just works, from the way they’ve arranged the lighting to the fact that there’s enough counter space in the bathroom to actually spread out your stuff.
Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk to Petite France, which is perfect because you avoid the crowds but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. There’s this little bakery just around the corner on Rue de la Krutenau that locals line up at – I grabbed croissants there every morning and felt like I’d discovered some secret. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood too, not just the major tourist spots, which comes in handy when you want recommendations that aren’t straight out of a guidebook. Parking was surprisingly painless, especially for Strasbourg where finding a spot can be a nightmare. Check-in was smooth – no weird holdups or surprise fees – and they genuinely seemed happy to have guests rather than just going through the motions. Look, it’s not fancy in that intimidating luxury hotel way, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, and honestly, that’s pretty rare these days.
To book a hotel in Strasbourg during the famous Christmas Market season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts holiday enthusiasts and culture lovers from around the world.

Excellent location and apartment.
The location is great and very quiet.
Also, the apartment was of good quality.Amazing modern and comfortable stay – Cristina from Romania – 21 July 2025 (10/10)
The property is new, the interior design is modern, and the bed is comfortable. There is everything one might need completed by small details (coffee, coffee machine, tea, cutlery, TV with Netflix, etc.). The area is quiet and very safe with parking options right outside on the street. The host is very kind and very responsive too. Loved the stay!

Great and clear communication, easy self check-in, quiet location, sparkling clean and spacious room, excellent noise isolation. Everything that you need, combined with the option for bike rental makes this place the best option to work or explore Strasbourg!
Great accommodations to stay – Wade from United States – 11 June 2025 (10/10)
Nice location. 8 minute walk to three train stations. Very new accommodations. Smaller than one might expect, but more than enough space for a few day visit. Half kitchen to cook, if you want. A few close restaurants less than 8 minutes away, but make reservations. If not, again tram takes you downtown quickly. Buy multi-day tram pass, well worth it. If driving, well worth to pay for the parking garage that is associated with the booking.
Superb – Berkay from Germany – 24 May 2025 (9/10)
Quite straightforward instructions, clean and as described in the ad.
What could be improved: The ground floor was too cold since the heating was turned off. It was really hard to make it warm again. Also not the biggest property for sure.Clean, comfortable and caring host – Ashish from United Kingdom – 23 February 2025 (10/10)
Awesome location just outside Christmas markets (during Christmas)
