Okay, so Les appartements du Général Uhrich is one of those places that honestly surprised me – and I mean that in the best way. When you first walk up to 12 Rue du Général Uhrich, you’re basically a stone’s throw from the European Parliament (hence the name, obviously), but here’s the thing nobody tells you: you’re also perfectly positioned to actually live like a local in Strasbourg instead of being stuck in some tourist bubble.

The apartments themselves are proper apartment-style setups, not those weird hotel rooms trying to pretend they have kitchenettes. I’m talking actual space to spread out, which – let’s be real – is pretty rare at this price point in Strasbourg. The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you settle in because everything just… works. The WiFi doesn’t cut out when you need it most, the heating actually heats (crucial in winter here, trust me), and the beds are comfortable enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you wrestled with the mattress all night. What really got me though was how quiet it stays despite being so central – I mean, you’re close enough to walk to the Parlement in maybe ten minutes, but you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise or late-night revelers stumbling around.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked: the real magic of this location is that you can walk to Petite France in about fifteen minutes through actual neighborhoods, not just tourist thoroughfares. You’ll pass by morning markets, local bakeries where people are actually buying their daily bread (not just posing for Instagram), and you get this genuine sense of how Strasbourg flows as a city. Plus – and this is huge if you’re traveling with groceries or planning to cook – there’s a Monoprix nearby that’s way better stocked than those tiny tourist shops near the cathedral. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that “we’ll email you seventeen different codes” nonsense that some apartment places pull. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. It’s got that sweet spot thing going on where you feel like you’ve discovered something genuine without sacrificing the practical stuff that makes travel actually enjoyable.

  close to the entrance of my workplace , walking distance from the centre, functional appartment that has everything you need. spotless clean. this is an appartment in a small building, with three other appartments, however, you really have your intimacy and it is very calm.

  What could be improved: From the photos it is obvious that this is a basement apartment but the ceiling is so low that I touched with my hand while putting my shirt on. I am not particularly tall person so I imagine a tall person would not feel comfortable. There was a terrible smell coming from the drain in the shower in the room off the kitchen. The worst thing about this accommodation is that I have received at least 30 emails, sms and WhatsApp messages from the property management with different instructions and rules. I understand that there is a high demand for accommodation in Strasbourg but this is just horribly expensive for what it is.

  Top plek vlakbij groot park met speeltuinen en vlak naast het Europees parlement. Souterrain appartement met lekker de ruimte voor een gezin. Door de vele hoge raampjes genoeg licht. Heel rustige wijk met weinig geluid en gratis parkeren op straat. Mooie wandeling langs het water naar het centrum. Vriendelijke eigenaar die boven woont. Er stonden al wat verpakte etenswaren, kruiden, olie en azijn, thee en koffiecupjes. Ideaal. Wij raden het aan!

  Emplacement proche du tram et du bus pour se rendre au centre ville. Appartement propre contenant tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner. La chambre donne sur l'arrière dans une rue très peu fréquentée
