Look, I’ll be straight with you – when I first saw the name “L’Élégant,” I was half-expecting some stuffy place that tries too hard. But honestly? This little three-room apartment on Rue de Mutzig actually lives up to its name without being pretentious about it. It’s tucked away in this quiet residential street that most tourists never find, which is exactly why you want to stay here.

The location is what really sold me, though. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the Modern Art Museum – and I’m talking a leisurely stroll, not a power walk. The Gare Centrale is close enough that you can hear the distant rumble of trains if you listen carefully, but far enough that it won’t keep you up at night. What I love is that you’re in this genuinely local neighborhood where actual Strasbourgeois live. There’s a small boulangerie two streets over that opens at 6:30 AM (trust me on this – their pain aux raisins is worth the early wake-up), and you’ll find yourself nodding hello to the same dog walkers every morning.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish aunt lives there – you know, the one with good taste who’s traveled a bit but isn’t flashy about it. The three rooms are well thought out, with enough space that you’re not tripping over your suitcase every five minutes. The windows face east, so you get this lovely morning light that makes the whole place feel warm and lived-in. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area (honestly, just embrace the tram system), but the trade-off is that you’re on a street where kids actually play outside and neighbors chat on their stoops. The 8.7 rating makes perfect sense to me – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but everything works, it’s clean, and there’s this genuine charm that’s hard to fake. Plus, when you tell people you stayed on Rue de Mutzig, the locals give you this little nod of approval, like you actually know something about their city.

  Apartment contained up to data facilities in both bathroom and kitchen. Beds were comfortable.

  This is one of those cases when they say: even if you want to criticize something, you can’t find a thing.

  We stayed for the Christmas markets and were able to walk from the apartment. The tram and bus line were also around the corner and we used them as well. Additionally, we came in on the train and it was just a couple of minutes walk to the hotel to pick up the key to the apartment and a few more minutes walk to the apartment. It wasn't an issue for us, however, it would be my only complaint not to have a lockbox with the key at the property itself.
  The apartment was spotlessly clean and it was nice to have enough coffee pods for our stay. We had a question during our stay and emailed the host and received a response back quickly. We would definitely stay again.

  Very clean and spacious for 2 of us. Could sleep 4 easily. Bed is very comfortable . Kitchen is fully equipped to prepare simple meals. Has everything we need for our week. Cocoonr was very responsive to my queries and requests regarding picking up the keys.

  Die Wohnung war sehr sauber, schön eingerichtet und sehr geräumig. Dank der zentralen Lage war alles bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Trotz der Innenstadtlage war es ruhig und angenehm. Absolut empfehlenswert!

  silenci, carrer tranquil, ubicació a 15 minuts caminant del centre, supermercat a 5 minuts, neteja, confort, i bon estat instal·lacions
  
  What could be improved: un cop feta i pagada la reserva, ens van informar que calia recollir les claus en un hotel a 7 minuts caminant que tancava a les 20 hores. a la reserva havíem avisat que arribàvem més tard. quan els hi vam recordar, ens van oferir recollir les claus en un altre hotel a 15 minuts. al dir que no estàvem d'acord, van posar una capsa de seguretat al costat de l'apartament. per marxar, havíem de deixar les claus a l'hotel que no obra fins les 7, i marxàvem abans. Al final ens van dir de deixar les claus a l'apartament. tot va ser solucionat i bé, però haguessin pogut oferir d'entrada la solució, sense haver-ho de demanar. la resta tot bé!

  Schöne Wohnung mit allem, was man braucht. Vollständige Küche mit reichlich Geschirr, Tassen etc.
  Kontakt mit dem Vermieter ausschließlich über Mail. Die Straße an sich ist nicht sehr bemerkenswert, aber in ein paar Minuten ist man zu Fuß in der Altstadt (über die Barrage Vauban), alternativ ist die S-Bahn-Haltestelle um die Ecke – daher perfekt als Ausgangspunkt, um die Stadt zu erkunden. Supermarkt und Bäcker ebenfalls in der Nähe. Besonders zu empfehlen, wenn man – wie wir – mit der Bahn anreist, der Bahnhof ist ebenfalls nicht weit weg. Der Schlüssel muss in einem nahegelegenen Hotel aus einer Schlüsselbox abgeholt – und zur Abreise auch dort wieder abgegeben! – werden, den Code bekommt man rechtzeitig zugeschickt. Wir waren nur ein paar Tage dort, aber die Wohnung würde sich auch für einen längeren Urlaub eignen.
  Alles in allem ein gelungener Aufenthalt – wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und kommen gern einmal wieder!

  What could be improved: Récupération des clefs dans autre lieu. Avec le code de la porte extérieure et une simple boîte à clef pour l’appartement, ce serait beaucoup plus simple… ( il y en a une pour la porte en face !)
