Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Le Studio du Quai des Pêcheurs” on the booking site, I was mostly drawn to the address. Quai des Pêcheurs is this lovely stretch right along the water in Strasbourg’s old quarter, and staying at number 4 puts you smack in the middle of one of those postcard-perfect European riverfront scenes. You know what I mean – the kind of spot where you actually want to sit by the window with your morning coffee instead of rushing out to sightsee.

The duplex setup is pretty clever, actually. It’s essentially a little apartment carved out of what’s clearly a much older building, and they’ve done a decent job making it feel homey rather than sterile. The stairs up to the loft area are a bit narrow (fair warning if you’re traveling with large suitcases), but there’s something charming about having that separation between your sleeping and living space. From the upper level, you get these glimpse views of the Ill River, and if you lean out just right, you can see toward the Ponts Couverts – those medieval bridge towers that everyone photographs. The 7.6 rating feels about right; it’s not luxury by any stretch, but it delivers on character and location in a way that most chain hotels simply can’t match.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Petite France (though honestly, you’re already in the prettiest part without the tourist crowds), and the Cathédrale is maybe ten minutes if you stroll. But here’s the thing locals know – this stretch of the quai is where Strasbourgeois actually hang out in the evenings. There’s this little wine bar practically next door that doesn’t even have a proper sign, and the Saturday morning market sets up just around the corner on Place du Marché aux Poissons. I mean, you can grab fresh bread and cheese and just eat breakfast by the water without feeling like you’re performing for Instagram. The building itself has that slightly worn elegance that comes with age – thick walls that keep things quiet, though you will hear the occasional delivery truck early in the morning. Parking is… well, it’s Strasbourg’s old town, so forget about parking. But the tram stops at Homme de Fer are close enough, and honestly, once you’re settled in this area, everything worth seeing is walkable anyway. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re staying in someone’s actual neighborhood rather than a tourist bubble, which is exactly why I’d book it again.

  This is a unique accommodation set in the most enjoyable and beautiful neighbourhood with all amenities nearby, steps from buses and trams, as well as most tourist attractions. A property full of character, combining the style of the old half-timbered house with a modernly finished interior. During my longer stay, I particularly appreciated the calm and quiet at night. Excellent internet connection! Everything needed was there, or easy to find in the neighbourhood.
  Hashim from the rental company was very professional and helpful when I needed assistance.
  I am looking forward to another stay there.
  
  What could be improved: Heavy rains made it a bit difficult to open and close the solid wooden door and caused some infiltrations, but this is quite normal for this type of property.

  The kitchen was well equipped. There were coffee capsules, tea bags, sugar, oil, etc. The bathroom had a washing machine, which is a plus. The apartment was very clean. Central location, in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. There is a bakery near the entrance to the building and a Carrefour market in the very proximity. Overall, a cosy apartment, although not luxurious. Very good communication with the host, they were very nice and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: The shower curtain should be changed. One of the windows was not well isolated, it couldn't be closed properly.

  Alloggio molto caratteristico su 3 piani. Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo e ottimo livello di pulizia.
  Posizione leggermente fuori dal centro storico di Strasburgo ma molto comoda.

  What could be improved: Logement assez humide ( les fenêtres ont dû mal à s'ouvrir et se fermer), et heureusement il faisait beau. La porte d'entrée est également difficile à ouvrir.
  Bruit sourd ( peut être la chaufferie de l'immeuble mitoyen ?)
  Présence de " bestioles " dans les combles, on entend leur course dès qu'on se couche.
