The name actually makes sense once you’re there – it really does feel like someone’s thoughtfully designed duplex that they’ve opened up to travelers, rather than some cookie-cutter hotel room. I mean, the location on Route de Mittelhausbergen isn’t exactly the postcard-pretty old town, but honestly, that works in your favor here. You’re far enough out to avoid the tourist chaos (and tourist prices), but the tram connection into central Strasbourg is genuinely solid – I think it was about 15 minutes to get to the cathedral area, which is pretty reasonable.

The balnéo setup is where this place really shines, and I’ll admit I was skeptical at first because “spa amenities” can mean anything from a sad jacuzzi in a basement to something actually worth your time. This falls into the latter category. The wellness facilities feel intimate rather than overwhelming – you’re not competing with crowds, and there’s something genuinely relaxing about soaking in the tub after walking around Strasbourg all day. The cozy factor is real too; they’ve managed to make the space feel warm without being cramped, which isn’t easy. Little touches like decent lighting (not those harsh hotel fluorescents) and actual comfortable seating make a difference when you’re trying to unwind.

What I appreciated most was how they’ve thought about the practical stuff that travelers actually need. The shopping nearby isn’t just “commerces à proximité” tourism-speak – there’s genuinely useful stuff within walking distance, including what looked like a decent supermarket if you want to grab snacks or breakfast items. Parking was straightforward, which anyone who’s tried to navigate a car through old town Strasbourg will appreciate. The 7.5 rating feels about right; it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any major disappointments. I’d say it’s particularly good if you’re the type who wants a comfortable base for exploring Strasbourg but doesn’t need to be right in the thick of things – sometimes coming back to a quiet street after a day of sightseeing is exactly what you want.
