Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from an apartment rental on Rue du Général Rapp – I mean, it’s right in the thick of Strasbourg’s city center, so I figured it’d be one of those cramped, touristy places. But walking into this ground-floor gem completely changed my perspective. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of “oh, someone actually lives here” rather than the sterile feeling you get in most vacation rentals. The three bedrooms are genuinely spacious (and I’m not just saying that because I’ve been stuck in too many European shoebox hotels), and the living area has this cozy, lived-in warmth that makes you want to kick off your shoes and settle in for the evening. What really got me was how thoughtfully equipped everything was – not just the basics, but actual useful stuff like a proper coffee machine, enough plates for everyone, and towels that don’t feel like sandpaper.

The location is where this place really shines, though. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the main train station, which sounds like it should be noisy but actually isn’t – the street itself is surprisingly quiet for being so central. During Christmas market season (which, let’s be honest, is when most people visit Strasbourg), you can walk to all the main squares without dealing with the tourist shuttle chaos. I loved being able to duck back to the apartment when the crowds got overwhelming, grab a coffee, and head back out refreshed. The Contades area has this perfect mix of local life and tourist accessibility – you’ve got the courthouse crowd during weekdays, which means decent lunch spots that aren’t tourist traps, but you’re still close enough to walk to Petite France when your visitors inevitably want those Instagram shots.

What I appreciated most was how the space actually worked for a group. We had seven adults staying there, and it never felt cramped or awkward. The kitchen is big enough that multiple people can cook without bumping into each other (trust me, this matters when you’re trying to make breakfast for everyone), and there are enough bathroom facilities that you’re not waiting in line every morning. The baby-friendly setup was clearly thought through too – I saw families with little ones who seemed genuinely comfortable, not like they were constantly worried about breaking something. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it delivers on everything that actually matters when you’re traveling with a group and want to feel at home somewhere new.

  Only very minor issues: a couple of A/C unit remote batteries were dead, and figuring out how to turn on the air conditioners was somewhat harder than it needed to be — at least for me — maybe include instructions for future guests. 🙂
  
  There were also ants in the apartment when we first arrived, but a quick clean of the floor near the main entry way upon arrival kept them away for the rest of the stay!

  Strasbourg'da kaldığımız bu evimiz gerçekten harikaydı! Ev, çok şık ve rahat bir şekilde dekore edilmiş, her şey eksiksizdi. Konumu da mükemmeldi; şehir merkezine sadece birkaç dakika yürüyüş mesafesinde, tüm turistik yerlere kolayca ulaşılabiliyor. Ayrıca, Strasbourg’un büyüleyici sokaklarına adım attığınızda, evin sessiz ve huzurlu ortamı mükemmel bir dinlenme alanı sunuyor. Ev sahipleri son derece misafirperverdi, her türlü sorumuza hızlıca yanıt verdiler ve bölge hakkında faydalı önerilerde bulundular. Evdeki olanaklar çok genişti; mutfakta yemek yapacak tüm malzemeler mevcuttu, oturma odası çok konforluydu ve yataklar gerçekten çok rahattı. Ev, gerçekten çok temizdi ve her detay özenle düşünülmüştü. Kombinin çok güzel çalıştığını ve evin sıcacık olduğunu belirtmek isterim. Havanın sıcak olduğu günler için her odada klima vardı. Ayrıca Wi-Fi bağlantısı da çok güçlüydü, böylece iş ve eğlence için rahatça kullanabildik. Strasbourg'u keşfetmek için harika bir başlangıç noktasıydı ve burada geçirdiğimiz zaman, şehirdeki tüm gezilerimizi çok daha keyifli hale getirdi. Kesinlikle tekrar kalmak isterim ve bu güzel evde kalmayı kesinlikle tavsiye ederim!
