Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Le Pont Kuss on Rue des Païens – the street name literally means “street of the pagans,” which should tell you something about how old this part of Strasbourg is. But this little 4-star gem completely caught me off guard. The building itself has that understated French elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, tucked right into the historic quarter where you can actually walk to the cathedral without fighting tourist crowds on the main drags.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually care about the details that matter when you’re travel-tired. Check-in was refreshingly quick, and they knew exactly which rooms faced away from the early morning delivery trucks (trust me, ask for a courtyard-facing room if you’re a light sleeper). The rooms themselves have this perfect balance – you know what I mean? Modern enough that the WiFi actually works and the shower has proper pressure, but they haven’t stripped away all the character with some generic renovation. The beds are seriously comfortable, and I’m someone who usually tosses and turns in hotel rooms. There’s this quiet elegance to everything, from the way they’ve restored the original woodwork to how the lighting actually makes sense for reading.

But here’s the thing that really sets Le Pont Kuss apart – the location is just brilliant for exploring Strasbourg properly. You’re a five-minute walk from Petite France (which gets absolutely mobbed during the day, but is magical early morning or evening), and you can easily stroll to those amazing winstubs like Chez Yvonne without needing to figure out the tram system. The cathedral’s close enough that you’ll hear the bells, but not so close that you’re swimming through tour groups every time you leave the hotel. I actually spent most evenings just wandering the narrow streets around there, ducking into wine bars that locals frequent – something you can’t really do when you’re staying out in the business district. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area, I’ll be honest, but the hotel staff knows all the nearby options and didn’t make me feel stupid for asking three times about the best spots.

With a 9.6 rating, you’d expect Le Pont Kuss to be doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Strasbourg – it’s just really, really good at being a comfortable base for actually experiencing the city. The kind of place where you’ll find yourself lingering over breakfast (which, by the way, has proper local pastries, not just generic croissants) and planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

The concierge service in Strasbourg can arrange exclusive tours of Strasbourg Cathedral, secure reservations at traditional winstubs, and organize personalized visits to the European Parliament and UNESCO World Heritage Grande Île.

Spacious, central, well equipped, perfect accommodation

  • Great location to explore Strasbourg – Shane from Australia – 1 December 2023 (9/10)

    Great location, well set up.

What could be improved: No doors on the bedrooms

  • A wonderful choice for a Strasbourg sojourn. – Renate from Australia – 21 October 2023 (10/10)

The apartment is very conveniently located. 5mins walk from train station with supermarket also only 5mins walk. Almost all major sights are within walking distance. It is a good size for an apartment with a well fitted out kitchen, good shower and it had a washing machine which is very convenient for a longer stay. There is no dryer but a clothes horse is provided. The landlord was very nice and most accommodating. We had a very pleasant stay..

What could be improved: Only a minor point. There is only one set of towels and as the washing machine did not have a very efficient spin cycle it was a bit tricky getting the towels washed and dried before they were required again. That truly is my only negative and is very minor.

  • Exceptional – Heike from Canada – 4 October 2023 (10/10)

What a beautiful apartment. Immaculate and airy. Everything that you needed for a comfortable stay. Washing machine included. Kitchen to make your morning coffee or tea. Space to spread out and all the sites a 15 minute walk. Handy to grocery stores, drug stores and lots of local restaurants. Train station literally 6 minute walk. Absolutely recommend. This will be my go to in Strasbourg the next visit.

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike.

  • Strasbourg was amazing and was made all the more special thanks to the high standard of accommodation provided at Le Pon – Fiona from France – 4 December 2022 (10/10)

The property was spacious, tastefully furnished and exceptionally well equipped. It was spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. The apartment is in a great location and within easy walking distance to and from the centre of Strasbourg and the train station. The host was very friendly and helpful and happy to help in any way to ensure that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

What could be improved: We could not find fault with the apartment or the welcome from our host.

  • Super logement – Danielle from Reunion – 2 January 2024 (10/10)

    What could be improved: RAS

    What could be improved: Rien

  • Heel fijn. – Joep from Netherlands – 19 September 2023 (9/10)

De locatie en de aardige gastheer en gastvrouw.

What could be improved: Er zijn twee slaapkamers, die worden afgesloten met een gordijn. Met kinderen die vroeger naar bed gaan is het fijn als er een deur is.

  • Tolle Wohnung an praktischer Lage – Laura from Switzerland – 28 August 2022 (10/10)

Sehr gut ausgestattet, im EG, praktische Lage,
    bequem und gemütlich

What could be improved: Man muss Roaming haben, um den Besitzer
bei der Ankunft kontaktieren zu können.
Es reichte nicht, dass wir die Ankunftszeit
    im Voraus mitgeteilt hatten,
    niemand wartete auf uns.
Anna hat uns dann nett empfangen aber
    wir mussten auf sie warten.

  • Joie décoration et très bien placé – Sylvain from France – 15 December 2024 (9/10)
