Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Le Phalsbourg? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street that honestly feels more like someone’s neighborhood than a tourist zone – which is exactly why it works so well. I mean, you’re literally a ten-minute walk from the cathedral and all that tourist madness, but when you step outside in the morning, you’ve got locals heading to the boulangerie and kids walking to school. The building itself has that classic Strasbourg thing going on – you know, those cream-colored facades with the neat shutters – but inside it’s been done up in a way that actually makes sense. The lobby’s small (don’t expect some grand entrance hall) but they’ve got this warm wood thing happening that makes you feel like you’re staying at someone’s really well-put-together apartment.
The rooms are honestly bigger than I expected for a 3-star in this part of Strasbourg, and here’s something I appreciated – the windows actually open properly, which sounds silly but you’d be surprised how many hotels have those terrible tilt-only things. Mine faced the courtyard, so it was dead quiet at night, though I’m guessing the street-facing ones might catch some early morning delivery trucks. The bathroom was one of those compact but clever setups where everything fits without feeling cramped, and the shower had proper water pressure – always a gamble in these older buildings. What I really liked was how they’d thought about the little stuff: decent bedside lighting for reading, enough outlets that you don’t have to choose between charging your phone and using the lamp, that sort of thing. The WiFi actually worked throughout the building too, which I definitely can’t say about every place I’ve stayed in Strasbourg’s old town.
Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot where you can walk to everything that matters – the Petite France area, the European Parliament if that’s your thing, tons of restaurants along Rue des Serruriers – but you’re not dealing with the noise and crowds of staying right in the thick of it. There’s a tram stop maybe three minutes away if you need to get across town, and I noticed several locals recommended the little Alsatian place around the corner on Rue de la Nuée Bleue for dinner (they were right, by the way). The staff seemed to genuinely know the city rather than just reciting tourist information, which made a difference when I was trying to figure out the best time to visit the cathedral without the tour bus crowds. Is it the fanciest place you’ll ever stay? No, and it doesn’t pretend to be. But it’s got that 8.5 rating for good reason – everything works the way it should, the location is brilliant if you want to feel like you’re experiencing Strasbourg rather than just checking it off a list, and honestly, you’ll probably sleep better here than at those bigger hotels closer to the train station.

Reviews
Overall it was good – Sharma from Italy – 14 August 2024 (9/10)
A clean studio apartment in the city. Idea for solo traveller.
What could be improved: The key collection method was not so straightforward for me. I have never experienced it before. I had to call on the number and then they guided me through it. The owner doesn't show up. Some agency takes care of it. Opening the main door of apartment was also not straightforward. I struggled for more than 5 minutes.Stay at Phalsbourg – Barkats from France – 14 October 2024 (7/10)
It was a clean and comfortable space that had the necessary facilities and was at a very convenient location.
What could be improved: Accessing the unit was a little confusing even with the directions. Also a regular bed instead of a pullout would have been nice since we didn't really need a couch.Genel olarak iyiydi fakat bir daha konaklayacak olsam 3 günden fazla kalmazdım. – Tuğba from Turkey – 16 November 2024 (5/10)
The bathroom was renovated and the fundamental stuff that could be needed was all included. The washing machine, the coffee machine, and the coffee next to it were so nice. The microwave was also a life saver. Thank you 🙂
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the ambient air in the building is overwhelming. The carpets in the flat are so dirty, and dusty. 🙁 If someone cooks something smelly, you can feel it in the apartment as well which is not so good. And the bed! I would rather have a comfortable bed and a small single chair than a couch which made my belly ache. 🙁Comfortable – Anonymous from Croatia – 16 June 2025 (10/10)
There were various utensils and additional equipment just in case. As well as you can enjoy the air conditioner in this burning summer.
What could be improved: Nothing.Exceptional – Luis from Mexico – 1 January 2025 (10/10)
Ubicación excelente con el supermercado cruzando la calle. Cerca de la estación de trenes (20 minutos a pie). Fácil de llegar.
Superb – Arboleya from Spain – 1 March 2025 (9/10)
What could be improved: Matelas pas très propre et très peu confortableExceptional – Wendyam from France – 15 July 2025 (10/10)
