Look, I’ll be honest – the name of this place is a bit of a mouthful (Le Patcho Charmant studio Confortable & Chaleureux… you get the idea), but don’t let that throw you off. This little studio tucked away on Rue du Général Rapp is actually one of those finds that makes you feel a bit smug about your booking skills. The location alone is worth talking about – you’re right in the Neustadt district, which honestly, most tourists sleep on because they’re too busy chasing Instagram shots around Petite France. But here’s the thing: you’re maybe a 12-minute walk from the cathedral, close enough to the Tribunal that you feel properly Strasbourgeois, and the Contades area means you’ve got real neighborhood life happening around you.

The studio itself has that French apartment vibe that actually feels authentic – not like someone threw together a bunch of IKEA furniture and called it European charm. When I stayed here last spring, what struck me first was how the morning light comes through the windows… there’s something about the way these old Neustadt buildings are positioned that just works. The space is compact but thoughtfully laid out – I mean, it’s a studio, so we’re not talking about sprawling luxury, but everything you need is there and it doesn’t feel cramped. The bed was genuinely comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), and the little kitchenette setup meant I could grab fresh bread from the boulangerie down the street and actually enjoy it properly with good coffee. You know what I appreciated? The WiFi actually worked well – sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many charming European spots completely whiff on internet.

What really sells this place, though, is that you’re living like a local without the tourist markup. The Neustadt isn’t flashy, but it’s got character – tree-lined streets, proper cafés where people read newspapers, that kind of thing. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the old town center, which matters if you’re driving. The 8.9 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be something it isn’t, but what it does, it does really well. The host was responsive when I had questions, check-in was smooth, and honestly, the whole experience felt more like borrowing a friend’s place than staying in typical tourist accommodation. If you want to feel connected to actual Strasbourg life rather than just passing through the greatest hits, this studio delivers on that front.

  The apartment was really good, clean and with all facilities. It was close to the train station and to the city centre. Close to the Xmas markets. It is in a beautiful residential area. The apartment was warm, the bed was really comfortable.

  The location was easy to get to by bus from the central station, the room itself was super clean, modern yet cozy with all the necessary things including a TV, coat hanger, cooking and dining facility, coffee maker and a super clean bathroom and toilet. It looked like it was renovated recently. The bed was super comfortable and the heating in the room and bathroom was working well. I needed the hair dryer and the host could easily provide it to me since they live next door. I could check out late and the hosts also let me leave my bags with them after checkout. Overall felt safe and was super nice

  Great localization of the room, which makes it ~15 min walk both to Palais de la Musique et des Congrès and the citi centre. Lots of stores, cafes and bakeries in the area. The room was overall nicely furnished and had a lot of nice-to-have equipment: kettle, mugs, plate, cutlery. The bathroom had some cosmetics, which is nice if you travel with hand luggage on plane. Wifi worked perfectly well.
  
  What could be improved: Overall, it's an adapted basement in the tiny backyard. The humidity in the room is a bit too high to my mind. The room is a bit too dark depressive. Although the flatiron was there, there was no ironing board, so I couldn't iron my shirts. The kettle had some limescale, do I needed to boil the water ~5 times before it was clear enough to drink.

  Le studio était très bien équipé, bien chauffé avec un lit super comfortable. Il ne manquait rien! Le quartier était très calme et je me suis sentie en sécurité. De plus, le studio est bien placé pour les bus / tram et même la gare et on peut facilement aller en centre ville à pied.
  Les communications avec la propriétaire se sont très bien passées et elle s'est montrée hyper-rapide pour régler un petit problème pendant mon séjour. J'y retournerai avec plaisir si je dois me rendre de nouveau à Strasbourg.

  La seule chose à retenir c'est que le studio est en grande partie au sous-sol, dans l'arrière cour de l'immeuble, donc pas de vue ni beaucoup de lumière – mais pour 1, je le savais déjà et pour 2, je n'étais pas souvent dans le logement dans la journée, donc ça ne me posait aucun problème.
