Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw Le Moon’s address on Quai Jacques-Sturm, I thought it might be one of those overly precious boutique places that’s all style and no substance. Boy, was I wrong. This place actually gets it right, and I mean that in the best possible way.
The building itself sits right along the Ill River, and you know what? The views from the upper floors are genuinely spectacular – not just “nice” like hotels always claim, but the kind where you’ll actually stand at your window with your morning coffee. You’re literally looking out at the historic core of Strasbourg, with the cathedral spires doing their thing in the distance. The staff mentioned they get a lot of repeat guests, and honestly, after staying there, I totally get why. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no pretentious ceremony, just efficient and friendly. The rooms have this sort of understated elegance that works without trying too hard. I stayed in one of the river-facing rooms (worth the upgrade if you can swing it), and the bed was one of those where you actually sleep well, not just adequately.
Here’s what I really appreciated – the location is perfect for exploring Strasbourg’s old town, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos that hits places closer to the cathedral. It’s maybe a seven-minute walk to Petite France, and you can easily stroll to the main shopping areas without feeling like you need to plan an expedition. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel where you’ll see locals grabbing their morning pastries, not just tour groups with matching umbrellas. Parking can be a bit tricky (this is old-town Europe, after all), but the hotel staff actually knows the area well enough to give you real advice about where to leave your car – they pointed me to a spot that saved me probably twenty euros compared to the obvious tourist garages. The restaurant downstairs is actually good, not just convenient, which honestly surprised me. I mean, hotel restaurants are usually mediocre at best, but they’re doing some interesting things with Alsatian classics. The wine list is solid too, with local options that won’t break the bank. One small thing – the elevators are a bit slow, but that’s pretty typical for these converted historic buildings, and it’s hardly a dealbreaker. The whole place just feels genuine, you know? Like they’re focused on actually taking care of guests rather than impressing them with flashy nonsense they don’t need.

What could be improved: No ElevatorQuiet ornate and comfortable close to Strasbourg centre. – Leith from United Kingdom – 22 June 2025 (9/10)
Beautiful and spacious, cool in the heat and nice garden area. Beds were really comfortable. Bathroom was modern and shower powerful enough. WiFi was fast enough to stream movies. We found the location perfect, short walk to the centre with plenty of cafes and small supermarket nearby. There is a tram stop 2 mins away that goes to the main train station. A taxi was convenient and only €16.
What could be improved: There was a washing machine and dryer downstairs that was not mentioned when we checked in. Would have been useful to know and have some clean clothes. Knocked a point off for that but otherwise a wonderful stay.Very nice stay. Good value for money. – Jens from Denmark – 13 June 2025 (9/10)
Nice renovated apartment in old ‘ Maison de maitre’ along the canal. Very elegantly refurbished: 4 m to the elegant stucco ceiling and the facilities ( a micro kitchen and a full elegant bathroom) very well inserted inside. Well done!
Exceptional!; Would highly recommend – Albert from United States – 12 June 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: NothingHighly recommended central Strasbourg – Hazel from United Kingdom – 1 June 2025 (10/10)
Large room, we were lucky to have a small balcony, and clever design in creating a bathroom and kitchenette within the high ceilinged space. Picking up keys and drop off worked perfectly, there’s also lockers you can store luggage after check out. Also walking distance from attractions and restaurants. Highly recommended!
What could be improved: NothingLovely place – Carina from Switzerland – 25 May 2025 (9/10)
Super stylish apartment, comfortable, great location.
What could be improved: The motion detector in the hall of the apartment and the living room can be a bit disturbing. Would be great if in the bathroom only the lights of the mirrors could go on during the night.Exceptional – Andreas from United States – 17 May 2025 (10/10)
Super clean, fully equipped, great for having breakfast in the apartment, high quality bed, excellent shower, nice view at the canal (our room was on the street side), great slightly upscale neighborhood, not touristy but walking distance to the center.
Large room with big bathroom – Atchariya from Thailand – 15 April 2025 (9/10)
2 big bedrooms with big bathroom.
Location on quiet street.
What could be improved: There are only 2 coffee cups for the 2 bedroom (for 4 pax). Utensils was not so equipped. Basic condiments like salt pepper and sugar was not presentAmazing place, wonderful people, spot on location. – Ayoshmita from India – 6 January 2025 (9/10)
Amazing property, very centrally located, everything was walking distance, even with kids. The Christmas market, the town centre – all walking distance. The room was spacious and amazing to look at, very dramatic. It had a well-equipped kichenette which made things easy. Elsa and Neslihan were amazing hosts.
What could be improved: Very few shops around, so plan well to stock your groceries or snacks. Wish they had a small cafe or pantry offering basic stuff atleast, coz it got a bit challenging on Christmas Day.
Oh and they dont have an elevator, so all the best with the luggage.
