Look, I’ll be straight with you about this place – when I first saw the name “LE LUXURY LOFT” plastered across the booking site, I honestly rolled my eyes a bit. But after staying here twice now (once for work near the European Parliament, once just because), I get why they went with the dramatic title. This isn’t your typical Strasbourg hotel situation.

The location on Rue de la Chartreuse is actually perfect if you know the city at all. You’re literally a ten-minute walk to the European Quarter – I mean, you can see some of the parliament buildings from the upper floors – but you’re tucked away on this quiet residential street that most tourists never discover. The parking situation alone makes this place worth considering. I know that sounds boring, but anyone who’s tried to park near the European institutions knows what a nightmare it can be. Here, you just pull into their dedicated spot and you’re done. No circling blocks, no feeding meters every two hours.

What really sold me though was the space itself. The “loft” part isn’t marketing nonsense – these are genuinely spacious apartments with high ceilings and this sort of industrial-chic thing going on. The one I stayed in had these huge windows that flood the place with light, especially in the mornings. Netflix actually works properly (shocking, I know), and the wifi is solid enough that I managed several video calls without wanting to throw my laptop out the window. The kitchen setup is surprisingly well-equipped too – not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation, but actual cooking space if you want to grab stuff from the Monoprix down the street.

You know what I appreciated most? The little details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. Proper blackout curtains (trust me, summer in Strasbourg gets bright early), enough outlets near the bed, and – this might sound weird – but really good water pressure in the shower. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after about 9 PM, which is perfect if you’re dealing with jet lag or just want to actually sleep. During the day, you’ve got this gentle hum of city life without the chaos you’d get closer to the cathedral area.

The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s definitely upscale without being stuffy, and that 8/10 guest rating makes sense when you factor in the combination of space, location, and those practical perks like parking. I wouldn’t call it the most luxurious place I’ve ever stayed, but it’s become my go-to when I’m in Strasbourg for more than just a night or two. Honestly, it feels more like borrowing a really nice local friend’s apartment than staying in a hotel, which is exactly what I want when I’m trying to actually get work done or just explore the city without feeling like a tourist.

  Check-in erst um 17h00, wenn man früher kommen möchte muss man Aufpreis bezahlen. Hatte ich bisher noch nicht.

  De foto’s van deze prachtige loft liegen niet over de luxe binnenin. Deze fantastische plek ligt iets buiten het centrum, maar van daaruit, wandelend met de auto of per tram, geraak je makkelijk bij alle moois dat Straatsburg te bieden heeft. Een topplek als uitvalsbasis voor een citytrip, maar ook om lekker languit te genieten en te chillen! Een supermarkt op 100 meter. Een echte aanrader wat ons betreft, vanwege een papa op reis met z’n twee tienerdochters! 👌
