Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about Le Lotus? It’s actually tucked away on Avenue de Colmar in a way that makes it feel like you’ve discovered something the tour groups haven’t found yet. I mean, you’re still in Strasbourg proper – about a 15-minute tram ride from the cathedral (hence the name, I’m guessing) – but there’s this quieter, more residential vibe that honestly grew on me. The building itself has that classic Alsatian charm without trying too hard, and when I walked into the lobby, it felt more like stepping into someone’s well-kept home than a typical chain hotel.
Here’s the thing about three-star places – they can go either way, right? But Le Lotus sits comfortably in that sweet spot where everything just… works. The rooms aren’t huge (this is France, after all), but they’re thoughtfully laid out with decent storage and – this matters more than you’d think – actually functional lighting for reading. The beds are proper firm, which I appreciated after walking around those cobblestones all day. What really impressed me was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re on a fairly busy avenue. The windows do their job, and honestly, after staying in some places where you hear every conversation in the hallway, the soundproofing here felt like a luxury. The bathroom situation is standard European compact, but the water pressure is solid and it heats up fast.
The staff deserves a mention too – they’re genuinely helpful without that over-eager hotel smile thing. When I asked about getting to Petite France early in the morning, the guy at reception actually sketched out a walking route that avoided the tourist crowds and took me past this little bakery that locals hit up. That’s the kind of insider knowledge you can’t Google. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood (welcome to Strasbourg), but they’ve got a small lot, and street parking isn’t impossible if you’re patient. The 7.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on the basics with some genuine warmth thrown in. If you’re looking for something authentic without breaking the bank, and you don’t mind being a short tram ride from the main tourist zone, Le Lotus hits that mark pretty well.

Reviews
Good – Melania from United Kingdom – 10 March 2025 (7/10)
What could be improved: It was quite difficult to access the studio because we didn't understand how to enter the code to open the door. You only had three attempts, and then it would lock, and you had to wait a while to try again.
Disappointing – Line from Austria – 2 May 2025 (4/10)
Generally, the room is nice, the descriptions and everything to get there were good and eventhough it's a little more outside, it took only one tram to get there.
What could be improved: When we arrived the room was not cleaned from the previous guests. I totally understand that mistakes can happen, but this was a pretty big one and we had to sleep in a stranger's dirty sheets and with their hair everywhere for one night and it was humiliating. The staff were nice and answered quickly but we had to stress that we want a refund for the first night three times, every time with more firmness to actually get the refund. I feel like getting a refund for at least the night we had to sleep in the dirty room should be common practice and nothing we have to fight for. This incident is the only reason for my rather bad review, otherwise it would've been fine.Je recommanderais cet établissement car très bien agencé, très propre et agréable – Lila from France – 6 May 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Un four serait un plus dans l'appartement. – Kostiantyn from France – 4 April 2025 (8/10)
Très bien placé
What could be improved: Chantier en faceVery good – Mawoussé from France – 13 October 2024 (8/10)
What could be improved: heure de départ .
– Bianca from Germany – 24 September 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: Der Check-in war ein wahrer Albtraum.
Superb – Pascal from Guadeloupe – 16 September 2024 (9/10)

– Florence from France – 16 May 2024 (7/10)
What could be improved: Une chaise était cassée, l'autre avait 2 pieds qui se déboitaient, dommage…
Equipement minimaliste mais correct.
